Mapping psychedelic flight patterns between worlds unknown, Noura Labbani and Jennifer Cardini’s electronic noir imprint Dischi Autunno sits right in the centre of dance music’s primordial universe. Italo, acid, electro, disco, emo, alternative, indie, lo-fi, trance, bass, new beat, big beat, synthwave and coldwave; a huge unclassifiable cauldron of moody electronic vapours fuming away at a sultry slow and low tempo.

Swooping low in the shadows since their last outing in November (Pablo Bozzi’s ‘Last Moscow Mule’) the label slides into our DMs (Doc Martens) fashionably late for 2021 with their most explorative and daring dispatch to date: ‘Intermezzo 1 & 2’. Two vital VA Collections, 22 tracks in total, the label’s sprawling leftfield network is articulately mapped out in more cosmic detail than ever before.

Some of the destinations may already be familiar as both  ‘Intermezzo’ missions occasionally reference previous trips. Label ally and confidant Curses is present and correct (and also responsible for the artwork, along with his wife) as are Younger Than Me, Golden Filter, Chinaski, Kendal, Javi Redondo and Dollkraut. But many more acts featured on here are new to the burgeoning stable; new talent who’ve been grafting at the future coalface underthe radar. Zillas On Acid, Mogambo, KOB101, Jacques Satre, A Strange Wedding, Het Morson, Arabian Panther, all of them sharing a spirit for raw, smouldering sonics that sit amid the fringes and between the boundaries. Dark, sexy, heavy sounds that transcend far beyond the dancefloor yet forever have a footing on it, Dischi Autunno’s extended musical work continues to conjure black magic at a time when we need it the most.

After Rodion’s remix for Acud’s 'Verbrennungsmotor' was played on almost every floor of the Fusion Festival in 2019, it was clear that the cooperation would not end here.
For his new release on KE//ER he gets his Mexican friend Eddie Mercury and Alejandro Paz on board. Together they create a promising little ep called 'Pero Voy Igual'. The icing on the cake comes from Mijo, who contributes a real dance bomb with his remix.

Black Light Smoke’s US-based imprint Death Decay Magic invites The Hacker, Cardopusher, Man 2.0 and Adrian Marth to remix tracks from the first three releases on the imprint.

After seven years of brand building as a podcast mix series, Death Decay Magic was launched as a record label in March 2020 by Jordan Lieb aka Black Light Smoke. With a DIY ethos, Death Decay Magic explores the darker, eclectic realms of electronic music, bridging techno with EBM, minimal synth and post-punk.

Death Decay Magic Remixes Vol. 1 is a compilation remix EP, drawing on the first three Death Decay Magic releases; Black Light Smoke ‘Line and Shadows’, Daniel Holt ‘Traveler’, and Man 2.0 & Black Light Smoke ‘Holy Hammer’. Death Decay Magic invites remixes from The Hacker, Cardopusher, Adrian Marth, Man 2.0, and Black Light Smoke on a release that illustrates the labels blueprint perfectly: raw, edgy synth music with ghostly vocals; one foot in techno, the other stepping out into the unknown.

Zone Music boss The Hacker gets things underway with a crunchy remix of Black Light Smoke ‘Lines’ featuring crystalline leads, zapping synths and whirring stabs. Up next, Man 2.0 and Black Light Smoke’s ‘Bodywork’ gets a remix from Classicworks founder Cardopusher as he takes the remix into mystifying territories with revolving modulations bouncing elegantly off the chugging rhythm. Night Noise artist Man 2.0 follows by laying down an industrial-tinged electro remix of ‘Traveler’ with otherworldly atmospheres, gauzy textures and dynamic elements.
Italo Moderni label boss Adrian Marth follows with an interpretation of ‘Bank For God’ as the spiralling EBM sonics flow vigorously and the drilling rhythms get to work underneath. DDM honcho Black Light Smoke then finishes things off with a version of his track, ‘Your Own Hands,’ which fuses rubbery bass grooves, playful melodies and vibrant 909s.
