Walking through the dead of night there was an overwhelming sense of tension which hung in the mysterious air. This was Salem and it was a place of great peril and anger - those who danced beneath the glow of streetlights were wicked and cruel whilst those that watched on from an Ivory tower had much to lose. There was evil in this town, the type that was hard to find. It was perfect for the rogues and vagabonds who would like to cause mischief and hazard beneath the cloak of darkness...

Franz Kirmann is set to release a new album on Ransom Note affiliated record label Bytes, an imprint which has been widely supported and well received since formation. The new album comes from a singular musician and producer who channels the atmospheric and the abstract. However, perhaps Franz is best left to explain for himself...

"My next album, entitled Madrapour, will be a cassette released by Ransom Note sub label Bytes. This is a return to my analog hardware roots after the very digital Elysian Park I released in 2016. One of my musical heroes Andrew Weatherall describes it as “achingly beautiful” and that means a lot to me! I hope you will agree with him!"

Since originally hailing from the Italian Southcoast club scene, Z.I.P.P.O has established himself as a regular DJ at Berghain, Tresor and Fabric while releasing full-frontal cuts on the likes of Suburban Avenue, Enemy and Ben Sims Machine imprint with support from Ryan Elliot and DVS1. A key Involve Records artist, he now brings back his fresh otherworldly and electro-tinged techno to Regals esteemed imprint.

‘Diaspora’ opens with rolling percussion, crunchy snares and cantering synths before ‘Hgroove’ slams with weighty kicks, cutting stabs and responding zaps until euphoric pads provide space on the break. On the flip, ‘Imagination’ goes on an acid tip with vocoder style vox-samples, 808-style toms and streaming 303 lines while ‘Vortex’ seethes with aggressive keys, punchy claps and a smoldering bassline.

Many people kept asking for a vinyl release so we figured we'd open the new Pure Coincidences series with these tracks. 

The biggest 'hit' to date on Coincidence was definitely REMY-X' "The Body". Played in heavy rotation by I Hate Models, Amelie Lens and Marika Rossa among others, it was on number 1 for several weeks and got played 100k times on Soundcloud and streamed about the same amount of times. So it made sense to start the series with this bomb.

The second track is by one of our alltime favorite producer duos: Noneoftheabove. Check the track and you'll get why. 

On the B-side, we have our longtime friend Esther Duijn who was remixed by dutch Hardcore and Techno hero Ruffneck Prime. 

The final track is made by british prospect Figxxro, his "Tunnel Vision" was one of the absolute highlights on the label.

Jonny Sriraxa & Luci B's indomitable sonic system, Nostalgia Futura is a project born during the first confinement period in Madrid, Spain, at the peak of the Covid-19 crisis. The overwhelming sensations of physical, social, and emotional detention painted the horizon with a nostalgic hue..."so we felt a certain type of nostalgia for this particular future..." And now, in their sets and performances, Jonny Sriraxa and LuciB aim to transmit the entirety of that accumulated energy through rhythms oriented towards the dance floor--evoking reflection through motion-- and flowing across a variety of genres, histories, and influences that fuse the old, new, and still-evolving.
