Performing at this year’s RE/FORM is Jason Kendig, the Bay Area DJ with a focus on House, Techno, Disco, Italo, and beyond. The DJ began his journey by becoming inspired by Detroit’s House/Techno scene - which eventually led him to start his first residency at Detroit’s infamous club Motor in the late '90s, becoming a resident at Smart Bar in Chicago, and becoming an integral member of San Francisco's Honey Soundsystem (a collective of gay DJ’s and producers who focus on raising the dance music bar with their uniquely curated weekly events). 

Because he never fails to make others move through his combined elements of the past and the future, it’s no surprise that this anticipated mix of grooving sounds is perfect to get things heated up not just for the summer, but for RE/FORM's 2022 Summer Event.

RE/FORM Summer 2022 Mix: Jason Kendig

@poly-chain very much takes electronic much into the future. The Kyiv artist born Sasha Zakrevska uses IDM, electro, and techno as building blocks to construct her own eerie, intense, and atmospheric sound worlds that are as cinematic as they are physical. Her edgy melodies are inventive, and her machine rhythms are hugely distinctive. She has not only written solo albums but has composed for theatre and museums, collaborated with Nene H, and released charity albums for Ukraine as part of her ongoing musical resistance.  

For this week's podcast, Poly Chain has sent us the recording of the very special live show she played at Dekmantel Festival this summer. It is an absorbing hour of beatless sound that will move you as much as any drum track. There are storytelling chapters to the set that takes you from darkened underworlds to starry cosmic expanses as the moods go from reflective and calming to more intense and unsettling. It is very much the sound of tomorrow, today.

In the early hours of 2018 a duo of house preachers of the highest order was in control of the Ankali dj booth. Map.Ache and Sevensol aka Manamana hail from Leipzig where they run the label/recordstore Kann Records and if their debut Prague performance has taught us one thing, it's that the two know where the groove is at. We're glad we could share an hour-and-half long excerpt of their set, as the vibe they delivered is a supreme cure for the vicious frost outside.

Possessing a knack for driving rhythms and rolling melodies with an emphasis on acidic and jacking dance music, Brooklyn-based DJ and producer Justin Cudmore is fast becoming a highly sought-after talent on the world stage. His debut release 'Crystal' on Honey Soundsystem's HNYTRX imprint became what some call an instant classic and he's steadily followed the hype with stellar releases on Interdimensional Transmissions, The Bunker NY and ISNISNT. Plus, with his latest release in the 'Twisted Love' EP on Phonica White he's continuing to prove there's loads of dancefloor ready tracks still to share. This is only just the beginning for @Cudmore and the future is blindingly bright.

In the past few years Cudmore has grown from local selector to globe-trotting DJ with high-profile performances at Berghain's Panorama Bar and both Circoloco at DC-10 in Ibiza and Circoloco Halloween in NYC, not to mention his continued presence at The Bunker NY parties. Through these sessions he's captivated thousands with his acid techno and house, a distinct sound profile that's garnered increased attention from his peers and fans alike. 

For Cudmore's Impact mix he delivered a live recording of a high powered DJ set he performed at The Carry Nation party at Brooklyn's foggy rave cave Good Room on October 13, 2018. Enjoy!
