After his sold out "Fight dem Back/Nu Gun" 12" in 2017, Sun People is finally back with a banger of an EP for Through These Eyes.
In the last years he crafted his very unique and distinctive style at 160 bpm, which he now fully expresses on the "Stumble & Grow EP". Successfully he combines the powerful rhythms of Footwork with the deepness of (old school) Jungle and spices everything with a hint of Detroit. There's a thin line between doing the same thing over and over again and having a true signature sound, Sun People is demonstrating the latter perfect with these four tracks.

Bristol's Kiki D cooked up heavy refix of HomeSick's 1800AREYOUSLAPPIN, and when we heard it we knew we had to put it out! Kiki D produces footwork, jungle, and bass-inspired tracks that they describe as 'queer bass music', and their downstairs neighbors describe as 'heavy repetitive subbass tones'. "Extra Spicy’s third various artists compilation, XTR003, is an all-Australian affair. This nine-track release features some of our favourite local producers and covers the full spectrum of bass music, from classic purist flavours to mutant genre cross-pollinations. 

Heavy, chopped-up breaks and massive bass stabs pervade 99 Nissan Patrol’s Ruffla, Mashup from Akul, and label owner Mincy’s Gnome Home. 

Fans of more stripped-down flavours will want to make a beeline for the UKG nostalgia of Why Didn’t You Mention It? by Myledo and Krypsis’ dark garage groove LoFi Rider. 

The final portion of the compilation raises the tempo. DJ SUNROOF gives a respectful nod to the past on Break The Mold, a jungle banger chock full of mangled breakbeats. 

Hardcore energy is merged with chaotic footwork sample manipulation and ghetto tech attitude on Say My Namefrom Floor Twenty, while UNKLE SYD channels 1992 warehouse energy on Sydtopia. End User License Agreement rounds out proceedings with a heady, dubwise roller that focuses on spacious echoes and big sub bass.
