Future City Punks is a collaborative project/duo comprising of DJ/Producers Traxion and Sam In Space, hailing from Melbourne Australia, with a sound that blends indie dance with various disco, electro, punk, and rock influences. Future City Punks creates a unique sonic experience that is new, edgy and infectious.

Their take on Front 242’s gritty, industrial post-punk anthem “Animal: Gate” stays true to the 1993 record whilst adding a chuggy combination of bass and guitar to accentuate the percussive groove of the original. With some explosive drops that will shatter the dance floor, this edit is primed for any arsenal.

With their gritty yet refined style, Future City Punks have several original releases on the horizon and will continue to make their mark on the indie dance scene.

PREMIERE: Future City Punks - Technology [OMBRAINTL033]

Future City Punks is a collaboration between Melbourne-based artists Traxion & Sam In Space. Their distinct sound blends elements of indie dance with disco, post-punk, and a variety of band influences, all showcased in their live performances, which deliver high-energy and infectious experiences.

In 2024 they released their debut EP “Lust & Defiance” on Curses’ highly regarded label ‘Ombra International’. They also released an official remix for Australian band Northeast Party House’s ‘Enhancer’, alongside appearing on Rinse FM France.

Infused with attitude and a punk ethos, their music captures a raw, dystopian vibe that resonates strongly with crowds and fans of any genre. 

With a growing catalogue of studio material, the duo are set to release their next wave wave of releases in the very near future.

Id like to give a massive thank you to the crew at flow sessions and 333 for asking me to be a part of this awesome series showcasing some amazing Australian talent! Absolutely put my all in to this mix with a fair few secret weapons of mine laid down. Started off slow with an aboriginal intro to fit the nature of what the podcast series is all about then slowly easing right into it with some classic edits splashed along the way. With all that being said, an early big thank you to all for listening! Now prepare your ears for some chugging electronic dance music with some classic Traxion indie punk flair. Enjoy!

About: Melbourne based musician Traxion, has engaged in the DJ medium since the age of 14. Growing up being heavily Influenced by post-punk and rap from the 90's, followed by strong inspiration from leaders in dance music Chicane, and The Prodigy, saw an eager young man naturally gravitate towards a personal pursuit of musical expression. 

Traxion toady is known for his profoundly unique, multi-cultured sound that includes a diverse range of genres perfectly mixed with the vibe on the dance floor.
Being an unfortunate year for most, Traxion made 2020 his year with debut sets at Australia's hottest shows, including Pitch Music & Arts festival and Let Them Eat Cake, alongside frequent slots at Revolver Upstairs, xe54, The Bottom End, Brown Alley & Third Day. Traxion has also been dialled in for supporting roles for Job Jobse, Rampa, &ME, HAAi, Detroit Swindle, S.A.M & many more.

Melbourne, Australia based DJ, producer and master in a range of genres including indie-dance, post-punk, nu disco, italo and has gravitated towards his unique expression of sound and performance from around the age of 15 years old. Traxion has sold out his headliner show in Melbourne, played at the world renowned Burning Man in 2022 & also toured in Mexico in that same year. Traxion has also made huge some huge appearances at some of Australia’s biggest shows including Pitch Music & Arts festival main stage, Let Them Eat Cake, Beyond The Valley and supported huge international names like Jennifer Cardini, Curses, Job Jobse, Skatebard, Maceo Plex, Joyce Muniz, Keinemusik, Adam Ten, HAAi, Midland & many more.
Traxion also has a collaborative duo project with Sam In Space titled ‘Future City Punks’ releasing their debut ‘Lust & Defiance’ EP on Ombra international, remixing Northeast Party House’s ‘Enhancer’ and released a number of edits up for free download. 

Successful, heaving shows and international bookings aren’t the only big waves Traxion is making. He also spends his time on his three-part charity based brand 'XPRESS' that is a record label, in which well-known and talented artists from around the world distribute cutting-edge edits of tracks where every sale funds a monthly rotating list of notable and deserving charities. Partnered with this Traxion runs ‘XPRESS-IONS’, a weekly radio show on Kiss Fm discussing all things music, worthy causes and upcoming shows to the airwaves and with an elite line-up of interviewed guests & finally, 'XPRESS' which is the events based side based in Melbourne also occasionally recently joining forces with Tilt Shift & Supernature under the brand banner ‘XTSS’ already touring Jordan Nocturne (Permanent Vacation) and others.
