So it's been a long long time since i have posted a live set.
This was recorded at the 1st Birthday at 212 Leeds.
Having played the first party - it was amazing to see how far the club has come - set to be an institution for music that refuses to be governed by names and profile and is purely about music.
It's starting to feel like home - and a place where i will hopefully get to spend some time helping establish what I can see becoming a really important venue.
Not often that I play on rotary mixers and it is definitely a different style of DJing - but I loved how this recording sounded ...

Jamie Odell (aka @Jimpster)is one of the most revered house producers/DJs on the scene. His labels @freerangerecords and @delusionsofgrandeur continue to help break incredible new music which he brings to his DJ sets across the globe.

Ahead of his gig this Friday 4/28 at Sunnyvale in Brookyn with RNT co-boss @JKriv and @johnbarera, he ran off an hour of dusty boogie and Brazilian rare groove, gradually building into driving deep house,  percussive rhythms and hands-in-the-air disco vibes. Get into it!

"The English Disco Lovers was formed on 18 September 2012[5] by four anonymous London-based friends, who were discussing the appropriation of the initials EDL from the English Defence League and "putting it to better use". Some time after that they wrote a manifesto expressing their aim to oust the existing EDL from the top of Google's and Facebook's search results, aiming to achieve this via search engine optimisation using a website, Twitter feed, and Facebook page.

In an emailed comment to The Guardian, they said:

'I don't think any of us could say we were disco fans before, but as we've heard more and grown to understand the message, we've found ourselves identifying with it. Disco has always been a scapegoat for racism and homophobia. English Disco Lovers is turning the tables in favour of equality and respect.'"
