BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix [October 2017]

A collaboration of music transpired on Spotify with Zito Mowa and Krippsoulisc to give rise to Garden Groove Music's latest pulsating release - Goat Stew. This power hitting, neck breaking track brings forth the versatile sound brewing in Limpopo. It's a celestial alignment of two contrasting sounds, Zito with his scuffed house and Krippsoulisc with his welcoming offering of techy dub.

The three track EP features W.N.N.E and China Charmeleon on remix duties. Their contribution to Goat Stew beautifully wraps this EP in delicate sounds and packages it for listeners to explore all spheres of music.

On the second track, W.N.N.E takes the listener on a blissful, eyes closed adventure of sound. Seamlessly getting you to float through every beat heard in the track, this remix builds so effortlessly to the point of climax and releases you gently into a state of deep house hypnosis.

And finally, on the third track, China Charmeleon adds an integral element of cheeky dub. This remix of Goat Stew is the track that will see dancefloors coming to life, hands in the air, in appreciation for the sounds brewing in South Africa.

In summation, Goat Stew is what happens when music producers come together with their unique sound and create without any boundaries and expectations.

@china-charmeleon (real name Siphamandla Innocent) He has risen slowly as a Charmeleon from the local ranks of being resident DJ
locally at his home town in Carolina in Mpumalanga Province. He had drawn inspiration from all kinds of genres especially drew
more inspiration on mixing house music on one of the Best DJs in S A and a cross the country namely DJ Kent.
China Charmleon began his career as Dj in 2009 whilst studying become an Civil engineer at Zinikeleni Secondary School, He became part of a Friction Boys Crew in 2010 with 3 other Djs, but let the let the group in 2011 to pursue his solo career. He was introduced to music production by Dj Mlindos & Dj Bronto. Needless to say, that was the beginning of a new revolution led by this young talented record producer. In 2013 China Charmeleon he produce an Ep called 'Season" which was voted by Traxsource.com as one of the top 20 Deep House of the year, he caught the ear of the legendary Vinny Da Vinci.
In 2018 China Charmeleon was about to quit his music career than he met Ta Ice the guy who asked him not to quit and "Ta Ice" he was the he one of the producers he look up to , After the release of "The Animal' under Get Load owned by Ta Ice, he caught the ear of the legendary Dj Kent And Kid Fonque who was the link between China Charmeleon And the Radio Dj Kid Founque, who then became a mentor. China Charmeleon song"Somewhere In Tokyo" Finally found its way to light in 2019 when released on Kid Founqe Stay True Sounds Music label, and reached global success

As a hobbyist I collect Techno but haven't had chance to record a mix for a long time. I picked a handful of tracks to play and then just got stuck in on two CDJs, having not mixed most of the music before. I tried to build an immersive if sometimes chaotic journey, constantly working to layer tracks on top of each other a part from the occasional break to get more beer, piss or smoke. It won't be for everyone but I would encourage anyone who likes Techno to give it a listen

We both used to play in bands. We are also both quarantined together. It was only just recently, during this strange time, that we decided to start jamming and playing music together live - outside of the studio. This is our first attempt at a live show - no laptops, mostly improvised, with some destinations in mind.
