Kandi House Guilty Pleasures (Chuggin Edits)

Once again, dear listeners we venture back into the Samosa Funk kitchens, airing exclusively on New York's  myhouseradio.fm with Michelin Star Producer / DJ duo De Gama and Les Inferno cooking up the Funk Sliders and Confit of Groove - served with a bottle of vintage Italian Spinasanta. 

De Gama was preparing and serving delicious antipasti and primo dishes from Firefly, Soulphication, Bah Samba, Moodena, Louie Vega and Lex & Locke amongst other tasty bits to tantalise your taste buds and aural receivers. 

Then for ‘the secondi’, Les Inferno has something for all dietary requirements and palates. Specials tonight include ‘Hubert Laws’ Linguine, Tavares Dolcelatte Pizza (with or without walnuts), Chaka Khan Skewers with Gremolata or LTJ Exchange Lamb Stew. Take your pick!

Midnight Riot presents 'The Finest 2021' A Funk Amigos Mix

For this week's edition of Spin City I hosted Huddersfield duo Uptown Funk. I play the first hour  with the lads closing in superbfashion.

About Uptown Funk:
Uptown Funk is the collaboration of DJ/Producers Poco and Sam Hall. Both coming from different musical backgrounds, they share a passion for the 4 to the floor funky dance music scene. When the nu-disco scene exploded into the UK, they knew they had common ground on which to build something special.
Both hailing from the pennine town of Huddersfield, Poco and Sam Hall are currently building a reputation in the north for feel good, funky, nu-disco music through their residency at Small Seeds nightclub in Huddersfield town centre and more recently with their foray into production of both funky re-edits and original productions.
They are now well and truly establishing themselves in the disco and indie dance production scene after breaking top 10 charts with both of their latest releases which can be grabbed as free downloads via the Uptown Funk Soundcloud page.
They're first official release - a 4 track EP on Rare Wiri Records shot straight to No.1 in the Junodownload charts. With more releases last year on Discoholics Anonymous and B Club Milano, Uptown Funk will see many releases on well established labels in 2021 such as Super Spicy Records, Discoweey, and Tropical Disco Records.

• In his own words:

"HI-8 is a journey around house and lo-fi house, deep, powerful, happy and chill but with a hint of nostalgia. I produced the tracks using some classic gear (Korg M1, Yamaha psr21 & ps25, 303 & 909 clones, cassette tapes...) and some modern analog synths as well, the goal was to work with warm & organic sounds and keep a raw energy overall. Using hip-hop vocals from the 90's has also always been a thing in my process, it matches the energy I described above. It's been roughly 10 years since the lo-fi house scene gave a new breath in the genre, and this EP is a tribute to all of it, enjoy!"
