Matt Pruitt (AKA 4Peace) our Jackin A&R manager and special guest, Pinto (NYC) are in control of bringing the funky beats this week! Ron H is a Jackin House / Disco House producer from Essex who has been making music since the early 90's. He has releases on a host of different house music labels such as Bid Muzik, Groovphoria, Juiced Music, CRMS, Federfunk Family and many more.

Steve also known by his DJ name Mindtza is a long time resident of the Underground music scene spanning more than 2 and half  decades as a Djs, Party goer and Event coordinator.  He stays relevant and contributes to the scene in a number of ways besides His love for being behind the decks. He throws his own events under Kids of the Core Chicago which  he co-owns with close friend  Thomas Kelly.  You may also be familiar with his Event flyers as he is one of the goto graphic designers in the Midwest underground and beyond with his still pretty traditional Rave Underground flyers deign concepts..  He has been a reliable and trusted resource for many other promoters and Djs around the country.  No matter the role he is in  his end goal is about contributing and preserving the underground culture as well as being a driving force to keep the movement pushing forward. 

Mindtza passion for dance music began in the early 90s listening to radio mix’s on local Chicago radio stations and picking up mix tapes from the local mall.  Mindtza was heavily influenced by  skateboarding culture were he spent most of his time doing growing up.  He was exposed to a lot of different types of music over the years through skate videos, dubbing mix tapes, or going to shows.  His goto music  was and still is to this day Punk rock and underground Hip hop. The raw up best tempo style of punk and the gritty samples and sounds of hip hop resonated as his sound. During the early days of discovering the sounds that would ultimately help define what Mindtza’s sound would end up being he spent a great deal of time listening and dubbing mix tape to help  expand his horizons by listening to as much as he could.  It didn’t matter the dj or genre as long as it had that sound of the underground. 

His record collecting and in the very beginning was  mostly early to mid 90’s Detroit techno and European hard techno along with late 80s Chicago Acid house and Acid tracks. As the years went on he dabbled with Trance and Hard style for a bit before reuniting with what would end up being his true calling and passion Funky & Jackin House music.  

Mindtza’s musical influences has a pretty wide range from Punk/Skate Rock bands like Descendents, Black Flag, NOFX, Pennywise, 7-Seconds,  to Hip hop groups like Tribe called Quest, Beastie Boys, Pharcyde, Wu tang clan, to Dj/Producers like Dj Dan, Rescue, Rick Marshall, Joey Chicago, Bad Boy Bill, Paul Johnson, Hyperactive, Jeff Mills, dj Misjah, Terry Mullan, Phuture, Frankie Bones, Hataris, Q-Bert, Dj Rectangle, Mix Master Mike, Cash Money. Dj Shadow, Green Velvet, Mark Farina, Derrick Carter, Sam Devine. 

Mindtza brings his own unique vibe to the decks with his high energy, long blends, on fly edits and deep and creative  track selections.  Mindtza’s sets are known for having The Funkiest of Funky House along with that rugged tech infused Jackin house sound while keeping that raw Chicago/Midwest flavor.  House is a feeling and Mindtza plays with a lot of energy and soul. He sets are a journey into his mysterious and creative mind.  

Mindtza has played a quit a few events over the past 2 and half decades around the Midwest. He has also had Guest mix’s featured on various online radio programs along with in studio appearances djing live on air in Chicago and Milwaukee.
