House Funatik:  
House Funatik has received wide-spread attention in the world of house music as his Instagram account showcases the roots of Chicago house music displaying rare videos, photos and flyers from a time when house music was still forming its identity. 
House Funatik, whose real name is Tim Muñoz, is a DJ that shares his love for the history of house while also being a part of the house music community. 
House Funatik is a Genre Manager/A&R at Traxsource.com who currently
manages the Classic House section.

If you are a regular listener of the show you probably noticed that there wasn't an NDYD episode this week. I took a Christmas break from my regular music duties - BUT there was a mix I did in early December for the FM station KXLU here in Los Angeles that I hadn't put here on Soundcloud so, here it is!

This was my second appearance on the Mystic Pete show that airs late Saturday nights on 88.9 FM - KXLU. Pete's program exposes underground artists in LA (and other cities) and gives them an FM platform to showcase their music. It's always an honor to be on Pete' show but this one was a bit special because it also included two of my favorite music selectors / producers and friends - Justin Paul (Los Angeles) and Davidson Ospina (Philadelphia). @justinpaul - @davidson-ospina

The mix here was my contribution to the program. The version you get to hear here is the longer complete version of my mix as we each had an hour of the 3 hour program (it was edited for the show).

Next week I will return with a best of 2023 where I will play my favorite cuts from each of the shows from the past year. That is a big task as there was about 50 episodes in 2023. I'm off from work this week so I should be able to get it done by the Friday. I have to because the weekend after next (January 6th, 2024) I'm off to Seattle to play with my good friend and regular of the show Ajax (@ajax-6). I am excited about this gig because I am coming back to the first club I ever played at in Seattle - the legendary Monkey Loft. If you live or are going to be there on the 6th come check it out.
