Oscar P, Cris Herrera - Said I Know (Fred Everything Remix)

I met Fred in 1992 on my first ever DJ gig in Quebec City. We became friends and I’ve been a fan of his music ever since. I still remember the pride I felt when I put the needles on his first record in 1995 so I decided to put together a mix to celebrate 25 years of music in 25 tracks.

This mix is neither chronological nor a “Best Of”, It’s rather a collection of my own personal favourites of Originals, Remixes, Collaborations, Bootlegs that have marked my musical journey through the years in a discography that spans over 2 and half decades and over 250 releases.

I hope you will find as much joy as I did discovering or rediscovering the many moods and many shades of Fred Everything.

I sat down with Fred to play him my mix and reminisce a little about the events, places and meetings that led to the existence of those tracks.

1.Fred Everything feat Rise Ashen - Find Your Way [20:20 Vision] UK 2004
From my second album, Light Of Day featuring Rise Ashen from Ottawa who also sang on the title track. This one showcases a slightly more electro influence, written shortly after Here (Now) released as a b-side of the single Over You which came out a year before the album.

2.Fred Everything - Revolution [20:20 Vision] UK 1999
One of my biggest “hits” from my first album Under The Sun on 20:20 Vision which was also licensed by Turbo for North America. Tiga had an idea to do a video for it, which was filmed in an arena in Westmount. It features myself on vocals, through a Talk Box. I was using an Atari at the time without any audio so I used to have to sample every phrase and sometimes words and sequence it after.

DJ Bio:

L!TO is a house music DJ, Producer & Label Owner. Born and raised in Manchester, England, where he was exposed to early rave sounds, acid house and old school hip hop! This introduction into the world of music were what made making and mixing beats second nature to him.

Nowadays L!TO is heavily influenced by the jacking sounds of Detroit & Chicago house music from artists such as Derrick Carter, Mark Farina, Daft Punk and the man himself DJ Sneak! Through this, a vinyl junkie was formed.

Technics 1210s were an investment in perfecting the art of mixing with L!TO moving out of his bedroom and into bars, and clubs. Establishing residencies and promoting nights in Nottingham, Manchester and Leeds. 4 hour, VINYL ONLY sets on Saturday nights became a weekly occurrence, with recognition in local and international journals respectively...

Later, L!TO began to produce his own sounds and has tracks released on some globally respected labels such as Ammo Recordings, Chicago Skyline, Seventy Four Digital and more recently a 4 track EP on Phil Weeks label Robsoul Recordings. The track 'Brules Groove' featured on 'THE BEST OF ROBSOUL 2018' compilation.

After meeting with Barney Osborn at ADE, they formed their own label Jacked Out Trax in 2018. A flurry of releases followed from renowned artists within the House Music scene - Filta Freqz, HOUSEGO and Rich Martinez just to name a few.

Jacked Out Trax has 20+ releases under its belt, with recent releases from Delgado, Robb Swinga, The Stoned and Jeff Haze. The label has extended its global reach to a select roster of producers, and is set to continue gaining recognition within the jackin house genre.

Meanwhile, L!TO continues to push his own unique disco-infused, jazzy, jackin house DJ sets to crowds around the world, with label parties and global guest appearances alongside luminaries such as Arturo Garces and Jason Hodges to name a few...
