This app keeps insisting that I add a biography. It’s rather pushy, so I thought I would add some unobserved info after years of having this profile. I make soundscapes out of samples using one computer program and no extra wired-up machinations. This profile represents the harvest of the more delightful things i’ve made circa 15-20 years ago, IDK, what is time but an idea?

Ryan Scott Mattingly's work sets washes of noise alongside sounds from daily life creating melodic songscapes with traditional acoustic instruments (guitar, banjo, mandolin, double bass),  electronics (synthesizer, pedal steel) and homemade instruments, weaving those juxtapositions into grandiose, otherworldly textures.

Stephen Roach is a self-taught improvising multi-instrumentalist (saxophones, drums). All tracks here are samples of recent activity and/or collaborations.
