i was so honored to be asked by the doodle team to do music for their extremely ambitious doodle, celebrating the life of pioneering game tech developer jerry lawson (aka the man responsible for inventing the exchangeable game cartridge, leading the way for the NES, SNES, megadrive/genesis and so on!)

i approached each in-game track with limitations suitable for the time (so the 8bit track and 16bit track are at least somewhat within range of what would be feasible on equivalent hardware of the time)--while the "edit mode" and "menu" tracks are meant to be "outside" the machine, set in jerry lawson's workshop, an optimistic and happy creative mood!

After just beating the original Final Fantasy for the NES, this is a song that stood out to me a lot. Guess I'm a sucker for NES staccato intros (see: Snake Man). My cover plays out for the first loop pretty faithfully to the original, then by the second round I have fun with it. :>

This is actually a pretty dang old remix for a currently unannounced (or not) side project with @canofnothing called Super Doctor Mario. We'll reveal more details about what exactly is going on later, but here's the first bit of it! It tries to combine elements from every version of this song from the Dr. Mario games, plus some original stuffs and thingies.

Chill [Remix - SuperDrM Project]

Here it is, a cover of my favourite song from the Undertale Soundtrack.
I always wanted to make it for a special occassion and, even though I am a bit late, I'm happy that it gets to release today.
I don't think I've ever put so much love in a song before, but I think that's fitting because of how much I love this game.
Sufficed to say, if not for Undertale, I wouldn't be here.
I wouldn't be passionate about music, I wouldn't realise that I can be a writer, I wouldn't have a community to appreciate what I do.
Undertale has brought so much joy to my life that it's hard thinking where I would be without it.
But as much as I love it, I must admit it's hard to branch off from it.
More and more I've been trying to create something on my own, my own songs, my own characters etc.
The first attempts were horrid, and well... they still kinda are...
Maybe sometime in the future I'll grow a pair and show you lmao
I want to treat this anniversary as a turning point for me.
Yeah I'll still make tons of fancontent for this game, but it will drift from being my main focus as time goes on.
As much as I love Undertale, I don't want this game to define me as a person.
I want to finish COTW in the next few years and after that, I'm going to create my own games.
They're not gonna be nearly as good, but I hope you'll eventually enjoy them.

Sakura Blast - Stage 2

More M1 practice. I ended up liking this better than the original! Unfortunately, I lost a lot of what I used to build said original, and as such, the intro is a touch janky.  Anyway this is ECO stuff, so if the lore interests you, read on, I guess. :V   
I wanted to do a better job of using this song to convey the landscape of Dascillia, as well as the type of place it is. Celestion is a place bathed in antiquity, but Dascillia is more modern. Telegraph lines and train tracks slice through the landscape, along with wagon trails and other signs of technology.  In some places, smoke from factories blocks out the sun. Farmland is scarce, but what fertile land there is, is covered in farms and ranches. Dascillia is a country at war, but it's so vast that away from the battlefield, all one can usually hear is the wind.
