After 30 years I didn't think Moontribe could reach a new peak, but we absolutely did with our 30 year anniversary Full Moon Gathering! The location was unreal, the weather perfect and the people brought so much love and dance floor energy, I was simply blown away completely! 

Here is my night time Techno set played from 9pm to 11pm on night 2 inside the most beautiful stage structure by Symbiotic Creations in front of a dance floor filled with super charged energy under the big bright full moon!!!

It's safe to say that Desert Dwellers are the most OG desert DJs that we know. In fact, Treavor Moontribe was one of the founding members of Moontribe Collective, the original community of California desert dancers who've been gathering under the full moon since 1993. We owe a ton of our inspiration to Moontribe and we might even go so far to say there wouldn't be a Desert Hearts without our founding fathers of the desert scene.

While we've had Treavor Moontribe absolutely kill it for us in the past, it's his ultra psychedelic Desert Dwellers project with partner Amani Friend that really made international waves. Predominantly a downtempo project, we first heard about a super rare techno / tech house set performed by Desert Dwellers through our partner Kristoff. And he just wouldn't stop raving about it...

Honestly we had absolutely no idea what to expect from a techno set by Desert Dwellers other than the good word of one of our partners. Their set was the one true wildcard on our lineup and it ended up being one of the most radical sets of the weekend. With the first 1.5 hours of the set being all original material, Desert Dwellers pulled off one of the best sets we've ever heard at Desert Hearts.

With a heartfelt nod to those who paved the way for us, we hope you enjoy Live @ Desert Hearts- Desert Dwellers - 018 as much as we do. <3

Treavor Moontribe co-founded the Los Angeles-based "Moontribe Collective" and its iconic full moon desert gatherings. Since 1993, these events have been integral to Southern California's underground electronic music scene and continue to this day. As a DJ, his sets are distinguished by their diversity, reflecting his broad musical tastes spanning multiple genres. This diversity is also reflected in his original music production, with his most notable projects being Desert Dwellers, PheuZen and his namesake Treavor Moontribe. Through his two self owned and managed record labels Dreaming Awake and Alien Breakdance, as well as a host of other top labels around the world, Treavor’s music has topped many charts and been played by countless top DJs. 

Beyond music production and DJing, Treavor has also been deeply embedded in the music business itself. From 2005 to 2012 he was the Director of Dance/Electronic at INgrooves Music Distribution, starting with the company when they had less than 15 employees and leaving when there were well over 100. He also co-founded the record label Desert Trax with his fellow Desert Dweller, Amani Friend. Their label helped launch the careers of several prominent names in the downtempo/chill out music scene and has over 150 releases to date.
