Dragon Dreaming 2022 - this festival was the first party I ever attended many years ago, the first time I ever played a set completely made up of my own creations and a place that has shaped my life and sound in so many ways. Seeing it flying again after three long years on hiatus and being reunited with so many special people was an absolute treat. The lake was full, the skies were blue, the grass was green and there were smiles all around. This is a recording of the icing on the cake, being given the privilege of playing the closing set on the main stage was a real full circle moment for me, and one I will always cherish, so thank you to the organisers and everyone who was there for the whole weekend and made it so bloody special. WOW Moontribe turned 29 this year and still going strong! Who woulda thought our little full moon gatherings we started in 1993 would have become what it has become? Well I did, I knew it from the start! 

I had the honor of playing a 7 hour set to close it all out too!!! 7 fricken' hours!!! Ok well the last hour is definitely me just playing random songs I love for my friends (even thru in a Phil Collins track!), but that first 6 hours was pretty serious stuff!!! I started at around 10am and playing until 5pm ish. I hope you enjoy the journey!!!

Live@29Year Moontribe Anniversary

This is one of those sets that built up inside me, patiently awaiting its perfect moment. I found a few of these tracks some years ago and was struck by their unique flavor. Slowly but surely I built up my collection of what I would call the "indie-dance / nu-disco" sound. There is plenty of music under the blanket of those genres but much less of it out there that speaks to my personal tastes. I kept my ears open and picked them up one by one. This isn't a style that I will play often, but damn did it feel right on this beautiful sunrise morning in the desert. Smiling faces and dancing bodies radiated love and light, the speaker stacks roared and my heart was full. I hope you enjoy this set at full volume and dance yourself unabashedly into your happy place :)

TREAVOR MOONTRIBE is On the Way to Ozora 2023! Treavor Moontribe is one of the founders of the Los Angeles based “Moontribe Collective” and its legendary full moon desert gatherings. Since 1993, these events have been at the core of Southern California’s underground electronic music scene and these events are still ongoing to this day. Treavor established himself as one of the top Djs in LA thru these events and has since traveled the world from Brazil to Japan to Morocco, Portugal, Germany and all over North America. As a Dj it’s always been his diversity that’s set him apart, as his love for music spans multiple genres and his DJing reflects this. Over the years Treavor has also established himself as a dynamic music producer having released music under several project names. His most notable project is Desert Dwellers with his partner on the project Amani Friend. In recent years he has started a new solo project called PheuZen that focuses on more abstract forms of Electronica.

Treavor Moontribe made his debut with Kalliope on Saturday night, playing an extended set of searing techno while Mona Lisa spat fire and the Man burned. 

Celebrating 19 straight years, Treavor - founding member of the legendary Moontribe Collective, and one half of the Global Bass music project Desert Dwellers - is no stranger to the sound of the playa.   A few years back, Treavor discovered Kalliope and dreamt of playing a Saturday night set at the helm.

It was a weekend to remember in Long Beach, CA for the annual Love Long Beach Festival. Subtract Music put together an incredible line up of local DJs like Doc Martin, Marques Wyatt and Halo Varga to name just a few. Thousands of people from all walks of life showed up and the dance floor was absolutely packed and popping off!!! Treavor established himself as one of the top Djs in LA thru these events and has since traveled the world from Brazil to Japan to Morocco, Portugal, Germany and all over North America. As a Dj it’s always been his diversity that’s set him apart, as his love for music spans multiple genres and his DJing reflects this. Over the years Treavor has also established himself as a dynamic music producer having released music under several project names. His most notable project is Desert Dwellers with his partner on the project Amani Friend. In recent years he has started a new solo project called PheuZen that focuses on more abstract forms of Electronica. 

Beyond music production and DJing, Treavor has also been deeply embedded in the music business itself. From 2005 to 2012 he was the Director of Dance/Electronic at INgrooves Music Distribution, starting with the company when they had less than 15 employees and leaving when there were well over 100. He also co-founded the record label Desert Trax with his fellow Desert Dweller, Amani Friend. Their label helped launch the careers of several prominent names in the downtempo/chill out music scene and has over 120 releases to date. In 2019, Treavor left Desert Trax to start up two new labels of his own called Dreaming Awake and Alien Breakdance, both focused on more uptempo music styles. 

Currently living in Costa Rica and coming out of a global pandemic that drastically changed the trajectory of his music career, Treavor has a renewed focus on DJing and music production, and of life itself! While Desert Dwellers is getting back to occasional touring, Treavor has shifted his focus over to his solo projects, DJing, his record labels and getting back into event production. One thing is certain, Treavor’s love and passion for music is as strong as ever!
