I bought J. Cole's 'KOD' LP as soon as it dropped with no warning to the fans; which I too am a fan.

"1985" resonated with me immediately so I asked Cole if I could get the Acapella and do an underground DJ version just for fun.

He sent it and I just pieced some stab samples to keep it on some boom bap shit.

"I created this piece for my father. He passed away Feb 2011. 
I think he would have been happy to see how much progress I made in creating songs since then. 
This piece was me having a jam session with myself using NI Maschine.
Drum programming, played the bass live on the pads, played the keys..
In honor of the 10-year anniversary of my first solo album, "The Golden Hour (sdtrk)", I decided to do a jazz-influenced rework of the song "Miss U" off the album.  This one is also dedicated to anyone who has lost a parent(s)
