From the top of the island of Cheung Chau to its narrow streets, the duo ►►△ TREE-ANGLES comes back with a tribal sound punctuated by the percussion of spiritual rhythms: ceremonies past that haunt the Hong Kong nights.
For this new EP, they collaborate with several cutting edge artists. SEVEN PRIMŒ from Colombia delivers power and flow with cloud and trap influences punctuating his rapping over the original. This is followed by a breaks remix, with UK bass influences from #NORMAL. To conclude, a deconstructed, almost possessed, and all distorted version comes courtesy of Hong Konger SHELF INDEX.
The EP is accompanied by a video, directed by Preston Hartwick and made in Cheung Chau, illustrating the spiritual universe and local influences that inspired the duo.

«99-year-old Walter Gavitt Ferguson from Costa Rica is a humble soul and a living legend, a Calypsonian of mythical proportions. Rooted like an old tree on the caribbean shore, he has never left his home town to look for fame, instead fame did come to look for him. Throughout eight decades, rumours of his musical gifts have attracted people from near and far, contesting Calypsonians, fans, tourists, musicologists, musicians, pilgrims and the President of the Republic. They once even moved a recording studio to his house as he refused to go to the city. 
But many years before that, Ferguson used to sell his legendary self recorded cassettes to travelers and music lovers from all around the globe. He never kept a copy for himself and with age started to forget many old compositions. A recently started, international "Tape Hunt" was able to locate 9 such tapes in Canada and rescued 50 of his forgotten songs. Vol.1 of this tropical treasure is now available, resurrected directly from original cassettes of the Calypso King.»

delighted to present this humble tribute to Mohamed Hamada Helal,
breathtaking Egyptian singer and songwriter from Sharqia. The
following reworks are based on songs extracted from Bakhaf album
(2002 - original track name « Allemny ») and a movie score : 3eyal
habiba (2005- original track name « Mastoul »).
« Those contemporary world music themes and middle eastern roots
seemed perfectly shaped for a dubwise adaptation. Therefore, we
decided to give you an opportunity to discover these thrilling Egyptian
vibes through this dubamorphosis of the original themes. »
Masala (FootPrint System)
The composition and re-arrangement of those tracks proceeds
from a fusion between FootPrint System’s spicy vibes, in collaboration
with the Egyptian dub master Amir (SawaSound Studio, Indy Boca
Sound System) in order to produce the final mix and arrangement.
This is a non-commercial release, a free tribute created to provide
the dub massives a little initiation to these musical roots. All rights
reserved to the artists credited above, any unauthorized copying,
reproduction, engraving, hiring, lending of those tracks is strictly
prohibited.

Les reworks sont basés sur deux morceaux - le premier est issu de

System, Masala & Dr. Kiko et le dub master d’origine Egyptienne Amir
(SawaSound Studio/ Indy Boca Sound System).

d’offrir au public dub une initiation aux vibrations des musiques du
