In this recording 4 didgeridoo's have been played in an  extraordinary way. Using airdrum technics give this instrument a very new range of sounds. When these sounds are arranged in a percussive way I was able to make melody with the harmonics. I was inspirated by my son who gave me a lifeless Dragonfly after his very first ride on his first bike. To me it was a methafore of excelleration in life.

Purple Sunset by Karssen - didgeridoo

Experimental Organic Airdrum on didgeridoo. Beside playing rhythms based on dronetechnic, I experiment with mouthdrum trough didgeridoo. Recorded with very sensative condensator microphoon. In fact, the microphone is placed inside the tubes end, and results in extremely sensative recording ,every breath, smal articulation, lip and tongue vibration is hearable like you will put them under a "microscope of sounds".

Recorded airdrum technic on didgeridoo by Hans Karssen, irie vocal by Marielle van Haaren and gentle synthesizer by Richard Hereijgers. It's was the first time for us to play together and the whole piece is improvisated. To add this airdrum technic to other musicians was for me an experiment as well, but turned out quit well in the synenergy.
