Berlin-based producer Cadeu returns with Bass Oddity, a three-track EP that distills his forward-thinking approach into a bass-driven exploration of club music and beyond. Released on Safe & Sound Lab, the new experimental sub-label of Safeword Records @safewordrecords, Bass Oddity embodies the imprint’s mission to present music that is unbound by genre and unconcerned with the dance floor, while still carrying a visceral impact.

True to Cadeu’s cross-genre production, Bass Oddity moves seamlessly through drum & bass, experimental club frameworks, and subtle R&B inflections. The EP reflects a period of collaboration and experimentation, balancing immediacy with depth.

Safe & Sound Lab launches with Bass Oddity, marking a new chapter for Safeword Records, the Berlin-based label founded at the start of the pandemic. While Safeword hones its focus on club-ready sounds, its new sub-label provides a space for experimentation, cross-pollination, and ideas that challenge the boundaries of dance music culture.
