Distant Touch is Ashley MacLaughlin, a British born psytrance producer and DJ based between South Africa and the UK and signed to Timecode Records. Ashley’s production and DJ style is a combination of full-on, groovy, dirty, fractal psychedelic beats encompassing a hybrid of both daytime and night time styles. His musical background began at the age of 8 when he started to learn to play the guitar. At the age of 17 he was playing trance in London clubs and small squat parties and started to write his own music in 2004 at the age of 19. 

Since moving to South Africa in January 2009 he has performed both live sets and DJ sets regularly at various parties including Vortex, The Village, Astral Afrika and Cryptic Symmetry amongst others, as well as returning home regularly to play in his home country and Europe. 

He has shared the stage alongside some of the premier acts in the global scene as well as playing various back to back DJ sets with some of the biggest trance DJs in the UK and South Africa. 

Ashley has also released a number of EPs and had tracks featured on numerous compilations as well as working with various influential producers on a number of collaborations internationally and has various side projects also currently gathering momentum.

The album blends organic textures, psychedelic rhythms, and emotional depth and at its core, 'Breaking the Illusion' is about freeing ourselves from the grip of modern technology and returning to the natural world. In creating the album, Rainbird focused on simplicity, giving each sound space to speak without being lost in cluttered arrangements. This shift brought clarity and helped bring order to inner chaos. Zen Baboon are Daniel Rosado and Henrique Palhavã. Both were born in the '70s in Portugal and since an early age kept a close connection with the musical world, focusing on great sound quality and original construction.

Daniel is a sound engineer that worked in a studio in Lisbon and started producing electronic music in the late 90′s.  Henrique, a zoologist, lives and works in his own farm and started as an ambient DJ, (DJ Henriq) and producer in 2001.

They got together in 2003 and decided to melt their musical preferences and create Zen Baboon.
