"mote. - Dust Particle (IDM/Downbeat/Chill) Darren Smith has been a composer, and performer of electronic music for the past 7 years. Under the project Reality Pixie, Darren has been a regular fixture on the Australian party circuit. In 2006 Reality Pixie was signed to Australian label, Gi'iwa Productions and in 2007 was signed to the Russian label Vertigo records. Having earned a reputation for creating emotional, melodic psychedelic trance, Darren has performed all over Australia: at festivals such as Rainbow Serpent, Tribeadelic, Earth Frequency, and Cairns Eclipse 2012. In 2008/9 Darren performed internationally with shows in Russia, Ukraine, Finland and Thailand: with the highlight being Khan Altay Solar Eclipse Festival. In recent years Darren has taken a step back from the world of dancefloor music to focus on his new downtempo electronic music project 'mote.'; a collage of ambient, glitchy breakbeats, melancholy melodies, ethnic vibrations and orchestral oscillations. In 2012 saw the debut ep by mote. entitled Dust Particle, an independent release on Ektoplazm which received 6000+ downloads. Lately Darren has been exploring the acoustic space having mixed his mote catalogue into a cinematic style quadraphonic surround sound set. My taste of music varies from jazz and blues to electronic..house, deep house,tech house than dnb.I mainly like the sound of `Bass` so much..

I also shouldn't underestimate my love of` the way funky music and trip-hop ruffles my body..

Maybe I don’t listen these years that much but I grew up with good rock,psychedelic rock music ,I appreciate their being with me those years...

Natural do meio oeste de Santa Catarina, mais precisamente Luzerna, teve seu primeiro contato com a música eletrônica em meados de 2011.
Após anos de estudos em 2015 lançou seu projeto voltado para os grooves psicodélicos. 
Suas apresentações variam conforme o ambiente, conforme a sintonia do local, horas Full on Groove, horas Night, horas progressive psy trance, literalmente surfa pelas ondas do trance.
Já se apresentou em diversos lugares de sua região, em seus sets mescla belas melodias e bpm's acelerados que variam entre 142 e 147" com tracks escolhidas rigorosamente e muito bem mixadas, estremece as pistas por onde passa.
