t's been a while since we've seen Henry Smithson aka Riton appear on Ed Banger Records. His work with Carte Blanche solidified him as one of the scene's shining lights and although it's been a long time coming, Riton returns to Pedro's world-renowned imprint.

We are lucky enough to premiere one of the tracks straight from the EP and fans of that classic Ed Banger sound will be jumping for joy. 'Aloha Surfers' starts off with erratic crashes and rolls while a bassline rumbles underneath. A little over 50 seconds in and the drop arrives, we'll let you know hear for yourselves what that's like. Check it.

Words fail when trying to describe the enormity of today’s release, but here we go anyway..

Scatz, the WUMP wizard of dark mid-tempo bass music, continues to impress with his newest song, “Kinetic Shift.”  Whether you’re a fan of the grime or a sucker for pretty melodies, this tune will provide a one-way ticket to ecstatic listening, as it truly combines the best of both worlds.  Beginning with a hard-hitting mid-tempo beat, Scatz sets the tone right away and lets you know he means business with some serious bass and powerful percussion.  It continues to build and progress, incorporating some raunchy sound design, atypical glitch rhythms, and distorted guitar to escort the listener to a weird part of outer space.  Scatz’ trademark juxtaposition of crunchy, gritty bass with pretty piano melodies is at its finest here in “Kinetic Shift,” as he brilliantly adds ample beauty to complement the dark, hard-hitting elements. 

As always with Scatz, the melody in this song appears in several different forms, holding continuity while also offering dynamic approaches to song composition.  Halfway through, he drops everything and decides to show off his progressive chops, as he often likes to do. This in-your-face beat grows in intensity until it swells into a monstrosity of weird percussion, glitch guitar chugs, and some crunchy space bass.  It morphs into an outro that ties the whole song together, and will undoubtedly make you hit ‘play’ multiple times.

“Kinetic Shift” is one of those songs that has subtle elements and complexities that boggle the mind and induce binge-listening, so don’t be surprised when you find yourself humming the piano melody and craving more.  This one will destroy dance floors, no doubt.

Australian producer Dysphemic, known for his dark and neuro-flavored music, delivers a fresh full length album entitled “Zeus”.
