They find joy in the simplest of things.

Maybe watching a leaf fall to the ground. Or even just a bird flying by.

And in turn, it never fails to bring a smile to me face too.

I always coming away from such an experience challenging myself to try to see the world through their eyes.

Invariably, of course, life soon gets in the way again.

But whenever you need a jolt of inspiration to find joy in the simple things, just watch a young child in the park and try to see the world through their eyes.

Oftentimes, when we think about making a good first impression, we focus on the physical elements.

How we look, how we dress, how we're groomed.

And from a location point of view, we focus on how our office or shop looks.

But as suggested in a Tweet from @AscendantPower, if we don't bring the right energy and presence to that first impression, it just won't be that impactful.

Certainly, the physical elements can be an important part of the energy and presence too.

But don't underestimate the importance of the energy of your people in creating that good first impression.

Thanks to the internet and social media, anybody who wants to have a voice can have one.

If you want to add your thoughts to the debate, you can.

But just because you can...doesn't mean you should.

Unless you can add something of value to the discussion, then you're really just adding to the noise.

To be clear, 'value' doesn't have to be new data or research or knowledge.

Simply saying the same thing a different way can actually be of value.

But if you have nothing of value to add...maybe you should just do that...add nothing.

We tend to make a deal of privacy.

Especially our digital privacy.

We hate the idea of a company tracking our activity online and then showing us ads that are relevant to that activity.

But here's the thing...you're still going to see ads!

So, if you're going to be seeing ads anyway, isn't it better that those ads are at least vaguely of interest to you?

Surely that's better than seeing ads about stuff that is of absolutely zero interest to you?

Companies can spend lots of time trying to eliminate all forms of bias from their organisation.

But the reality is, even in the strictest meritocracies, bias still exists.

Just look at professional sporting teams, for example.

You would think that the best players, in form, are the ones that always make the team.

But the coach might favour one over the other based on past form, or experience in big games, or even because he just likes one player more than the other.

Do you think this kind of bias doesn't happen at the elite level?

If you have a tendency to overthink things, to overcomplicate things...write it down.

By writing down your thoughts, it helps you to clarify them, rather than having those thoughts just running around in your head.

And conversely, if you oversimplify things, or underthink them...read.

Do some research. Google it. 

The more you learn about your topic, chances are, you'll realise how much you don't know.

It always amuses when people talk about the amazing opportunities previous generations had to get in early on something.

'They were lucky because they were there when the internet first started. So they were able to get in early and win.'

But the same could be said of the generation before that.

Instead of lamenting the ones you weren't around for, keep an eye out for the opportunities happening around you - at this very moment.

To expand a bit...

Web 1 was the early days of the internet. It was really just a place to go and read information online.

Web 2 saw the arrival of social media platforms - blogs, YouTube, Facebook, etc. And with that, we were now able to write and post our own content.

Now, in Web 3, thanks to blockchain technologies and NFTs, we have digital ownership.

I think that statement is super relevant and highly applicable to most of us today, perhaps more than any other time in the past.

The sort of questions employers really need answered today are, What are you capable of? What can you do? Can you show me examples of your work?

Where you have been before matters much less than what you can do today.

And for those of us with access to technology such as the internet, laptops, smart phones, etc, we can build, create, network our way to whatever future our skills and hard work will take us.

Of course, it's worth mentioning that there are still many countries around the world where this kind of access does not exist. 

For them, it is much harder.

But for the rest of the world, more than ever, it's about where you're at.

In a world where there is so much focus on political correctness and being aware of everyone's sensitivities, sometimes we can lose sight of the need for a critical review.

You will learn about the process. And you will learn about yourself.

The one thing we are not getting any more of is time.

NFT stands for Non-Fungible Token.

That means each token has a unique value.

Unlike, say, a $1 bill, which is a kind of Fungible Token.

That is to say, that each $1 bill has the same value.

And why NFT's matter is that they can be attached to digital assets (like a photo, an audio file, a video, a GIF, even a meme) and assigned a value.

By attaching the NFT to your digital content you are also essentially creating attribution. Establishing that you are the creator and owner of that content.

As NFT's life on the blockchain, they are forever part of the digital ledger.

What all this means for the creators of digital content, it now makes it much easier for them to not only establish ownership, but also then on-sell or lease that content to others.
