Bloody Mary is an producer, live act, DJ, label owner of Dame-Music, and resident at Tresor Berlin.

This mix brings together some of her favourite tracks from the summer—acid bangers and groovy techno cuts from producers she admires—alongside three of her own. It includes one from her latest EP, another forthcoming on 26 September, and a third signed to a favourite acid label for release on vinyl later this year. The set is all about high energy and raw grooves.

Perhaps most known for his work as half of techno outfit Cassegrain, Istanbul native Hüseyin Evirgen has been active as solo artist since 2016 and making a name in his own right. His early classical training has taken a broader form in more recent years, a mashup of inspirations with strong mathematical current where simple ideas culminate in more complex and exponential compositions. Under the name Magna Pia, and adjunct label Arcing Seas his hulking techno has taken shape, and the imprint’s proven a platform for the publishing of his own work, Cassegrain’s and that of a small number of his close collaborators. His driving beats offer powerful and provocative moments mixed in with a clever spin on ambient that’s recognizable from a mile off, and constantly pushing what’s possible in sound to new and unforeseen heights. His 2019 album Daiauna was a return to roots record that incorporated his earlier training as piano player with the fluid electronics developed since, foraging too from his keen instinct for primal rhythms and high-brow symbolism. In the end it’s deeply physical, and proof of techno’s staying power as a medium for dance and social change. Bassiani Podcast 27 covers all these bases and more, an honest and striking addition to a body of work in constant flux. 4/4 magic from a true master.

Linear System is a techno artist known his hypnotic and immersive signature sound, blending deep, layered textures with powerful basslines, emerging from Spain in 2020, he quickly gained recognition for his distinct approach to techno, crafting intricate, evolving soundscapes that captivate listeners.

His productions reached labels like: Planet Rhythm, Molecular Recordings, Dynamic Reflection, Symbolism, Edit Select...

His music is characterized by a dark yet dynamic energy, reflecting his dedication to pushing the boundaries of the genre.

In 2023 he started his own label, Modern Minimal releasing music exclusively for free.

Kevin Villa es un dj que su trabajo sólido le precede; como productor, ha revelado en sellos como Illegal Alien Records, Broken Mind Recordings, Wall Music, True Type Tracks, entre otros, y su recorrido a nivel nacional e internacional en países como Honduras, Chile y España lo han ubicado en la nueva generación del Techno. Actualmente hace parte de la agencia Essense, en Colombia.

Greetings, resuming our series of live-recorded podcasts, we bring you a great talent from the techno scene, from Pereira, Colombia. This is Kevin Villa: An artist with over a decade of experience, a driving force of electronic music in his city with the Matteria collective and resident DJ at the legendary Tunnel Club, where today's recording is being made.
Kevin Villa is a DJ whose solid work precedes him. As a producer, he has released tracks on labels such as IllegalAlienRecords, BrokenMindRecordings, WallMusic, TrueTypeTracks, among others. His national and international career in countries like Honduras, Chile, and Spain has placed him among the new generation of techno. He is currently part of the Essense agency in Colombia.

In this episode, we enjoyed a two-hour session hosted at Tunnel Club on the night organized by Default Series and Matteria, which also featured DJs Sxnxrxs, Joan CTR, Jose Monsalve, Leo J, and Bernardo Hangar, the mastermind of the Dark Forest label (Spain).
"The early morning dawned, and Kevin took us on a hypnotic techno journey of contrasts between the mental and the energetic, ambient soundscapes, and minimalist arpeggios, providing a perfect conclusion to all the masterwork we had heard that night."

Tresor Records is proud to welcome Shao Yanpeng, the first Chinese artist to enter the label’s star-studded roster. Shao is based in Being, China, where he has been making electronic music since 2002, and pursues his career as a producer and successful sound designer.

With 'Doppler Shift Pt.1’ Shao continues to experiment with various facets of electronic music. On the A-side, 'Sensi' dives straight into feverish synth work which halts into a suspenseful ascension to the climax. On the flip, 'Reflection Pt.2' takes on a more serene atmosphere slowly building and adding textures as the track progresses into a meticulously built composition. The digital bonus track 'Reflection Pt.1' follows the same arrangement with a darker and more crude attitude.

At midnight, on March 13th 1991, a basement door opened at Leipziger Strasse 126, Berlin. Through this door, many passed, on their way to defining new terrains in electronic music. There they found a dance floor in the vaults of a closed-down department store, with a unique sound bound to dense fog, building night after night a history that was also a vision of the future. 

This history has seen in Jeff Mills’ first sets on three turntables, Underground Resistance's first live appearances in Europe, grandiose Tresor Park parties, to various chapters of the Loveparade with Sven Väth in the 90s and since then countless generation-spanning parties. These moments represent the highlights of infinite personal clubbing experiences. It is the manifestation of the Berlin spirit, emerging from its considerable strife. This history is not without its complications - from temporary closure by the authorities and several raids in the early years to closure and demolition of the old location in 2005. What followed was years of wandering in exile and, finally, resurrection in the new home in Kraftwerk Berlin.

These stories, conversations and shared experiences within our walls forge a resilience that drives towards a shared ideal, the Tresor sound: community, resistance, and the world to come. This was observed in the newly re-unified German youth, who danced and celebrated together from the club’s inception, and into the present day through ongoing community work in Detroit. 

Tresor Records was founded in the same year and began to serve as a platform for exporting the new sounds associated with Tresor all around the world. Emergent musicians from Michigan, such as Juan Atkins, Underground Resistance and Drexciya, were pivotal in shaping these early years. Their visits to Berlin would kick-start dialogue between the youth movement in Europe and these musicians. This story is one of friendship and community-building, inextricably linked with cities like Detroit, Birmingham or Edinburgh, where like-minded friends built something truly special, where revelatory rhythms soundtrack decaying industry in corrupted metropoles. 

Tresor Records has been the fertile soil for dozens upon dozens of creative minds, from the very luminaries of the scene who developed electronic music over the last three decades through to contemporary protagonists who are currently defining the sound of the future -  A more than 300 strong catalogue displays an unmistakable identity - the Tresor spirit.

To those that have danced before, and to those that will dance in the future: the light at the end of the long Tresor tunnel is a signal. A flicker amidst the fog. This is our future. This is our place.
