The relentless churn of techno welcomes a fresh face: Academeia Records, a Copenhagen outfit ready to launch into the stratosphere. Their debut offering, a sprawling 22-track compilation titled "Transparent World," promises a voyage through the genre's diverse landscape. We find established figures like Anthony Linell and Space Drum Meditation alongside the local legend Martinez, a veteran with years etched in the electronic music scene.

Our focus today is "Landing," a collaborative effort by Athenian duo Atypikal. The track starts subtly, a slow burn of tension that builds for two minutes before erupting into a full-blown techno odyssey. Atypikal throws everything at the wall here: relentless percussion lays the foundation, catchy melodic sequences weave through the mix, and the kick drum pulsates like a throbbing heart. Swirling synth lines add a layer of spacey intrigue, a welcome touch considering the track's relentless drive.
A promising start for Academeia, "Landing" and the rest of "Transparent World" launch on June 21st via the newly formed label.

The ongoing importance of this album is indisputable, essential both to techno and to Tresor. It is a history intertwined. This work elevates its maker as master, and remain a cherished moment in the Tresor story, sharing an irrefutable singular magic, sounding as present and indispensable as when first created. To understand this work fully is to stand back and celebrate its impact.

Originally released in 1994, ‘Internal Empire’ marks a point of transition for Robert Hood moving on from his previous collaborations within Underground Resistance. Robert Hood advanced uncovering the power of true minimalism. Deep soul through a simplicity that showed how much could be done with so little. The devastating rhythms of this album forge the unmatched spirit of this sound, influencing generations to come.

"25 years ago, I was faced with the challenge of following up on 'Minimal Nation’. I cancelled all my tour dates for that summer, setup my studio in the living room and began to work on 'Internal Empire'.  My intention was to create something distinctively different. Looking out my living room window in Detroit watching people go by gave me a new perspective. It made me look at the world within myself. 25 years later I am still discovering.”  – Robert Hood

Thirty years after its original release in West Berlin, Tresor Records is glad to present a re-mastered and re-cut edition of TV Victor’s legendary debut album Moondance.
TV Victor, one of Tresor’s spearhead artists since the label’s very first hour, is an alias of Udo Heitfeld. In 1989, TV Victor launched his first solo project under the form of Moondance. He then went on to compose legendary ambient and trance productions including Trance Garden 1-3, Trancecology Chapter 1 , Timeless Deccelaration and The Ways Of The Bodies.
TV Victor collaborated with other artists such as Moritz von Oswald, Thomas Fehlmann, Max Loderbauer, Paul Browse or Tobias Freund, amongst many others.
From the liner notes: “These songs are an invitation to your consciousness. Moondance is the sound of your aware body. The moon is the place where your body realizes consciousness. Floating and dancing is the way people come together. A dierent kind of gravity, a dierent state of mind and electricity between man and woman makes it alive. Find your own moon.”

TV Victor - Rendezvous In Space

After more than two decades of behind the scenes collaboration Juan Atkins & Moritz von Oswald present Borderland - their debut collaborative album to be released this summer on Tresor Records.

The album - made up of 8 sequences, which seamlessly blend the styles of both masters - was recorded at the beginning of 2013 over various studio sessions in Berlin and will be released as a series of three 12"s and a CD album. Limited to 500 units, pressed on heavy vinyl and packed in hefty sleeves, the three part vinyl series, gathers all but one title present on the CD format. 

Together with a series of live shows debuted in May at MUTEK festival, with follow-ups in Berlin, Amsterdam, London, Paris - the record gives common voice to two independent yet mutually supporting musical journeys, achieving a singular expression of club-orientated electronic music and the freedom of organic musical experimentation.

Juan Atkins & Moritz von Oswald - Borderland II / III – B. Mars Garden

At midnight, on March 13th 1991, a basement door opened at Leipziger Strasse 126, Berlin. Through this door, many passed, on their way to defining new terrains in electronic music. There they found a dance floor in the vaults of a closed-down department store, with a unique sound bound to dense fog, building night after night a history that was also a vision of the future. 

This history has seen in Jeff Mills’ first sets on three turntables, Underground Resistance's first live appearances in Europe, grandiose Tresor Park parties, to various chapters of the Loveparade with Sven Väth in the 90s and since then countless generation-spanning parties. These moments represent the highlights of infinite personal clubbing experiences. It is the manifestation of the Berlin spirit, emerging from its considerable strife. This history is not without its complications - from temporary closure by the authorities and several raids in the early years to closure and demolition of the old location in 2005. What followed was years of wandering in exile and, finally, resurrection in the new home in Kraftwerk Berlin.

These stories, conversations and shared experiences within our walls forge a resilience that drives towards a shared ideal, the Tresor sound: community, resistance, and the world to come. This was observed in the newly re-unified German youth, who danced and celebrated together from the club’s inception, and into the present day through ongoing community work in Detroit. 

Tresor Records was founded in the same year and began to serve as a platform for exporting the new sounds associated with Tresor all around the world. Emergent musicians from Michigan, such as Juan Atkins, Underground Resistance and Drexciya, were pivotal in shaping these early years. Their visits to Berlin would kick-start dialogue between the youth movement in Europe and these musicians. This story is one of friendship and community-building, inextricably linked with cities like Detroit, Birmingham or Edinburgh, where like-minded friends built something truly special, where revelatory rhythms soundtrack decaying industry in corrupted metropoles. 

Tresor Records has been the fertile soil for dozens upon dozens of creative minds, from the very luminaries of the scene who developed electronic music over the last three decades through to contemporary protagonists who are currently defining the sound of the future -  A more than 300 strong catalogue displays an unmistakable identity - the Tresor spirit.

To those that have danced before, and to those that will dance in the future: the light at the end of the long Tresor tunnel is a signal. A flicker amidst the fog. This is our future. This is our place.
