In addition to the "Best Of Ambient" compilation from John Beltran, two remixes are made to honour one of our favourite electronic music producers of all time. The a-side gives us a reinterpretation of "Brilliant Flood" from rising star Kassem Mosse together with his studiomate Mix Mup. This remix smoothly pimps up the track whilst leaving the atmosphere of the original intact. On the b-side, Sven Weisemann made a composition as a tribute to John Beltran, which contains elements of different original cuts. The result is Sven's Glorify Tribute Mix, a dreamy epic adventurous nine-minute masterpiece in three parts.

Tresor Records marks its 250th release with a very special project indeed. Continuing to forge ahead whilst remaining ever mindful of its legacy, Tresor proudly presents Infiniti - The Remixes: a trilogy of classic cuts and new reworks from one of its original Detroit linchpins Juan Atkins.

Dubbed as his “pure techno” project, Atkins produced two full-length albums under the Infiniti moniker—The Infiniti Collection, released by Tresor in 1996, and Skynet two years later. 16 years on and they are as relevant today as they were pioneering then, brought further up-to-date here with a series of fresh takes from some of techno’s pioneering and esteemed figures: Thomas Fehlmann, TV Victor, Function, Redshape, Sleeparchive and the re-release of dubtechno vanguard Moritz Von Oswald's remix of "Think Quick", originally released in '94 on Metroplex.

Part One - The Orb’s Thomas Fehlmann picked two tracks, one in each album, to form a very special combo-mix. The shimmering “Walking On Water” and "Raindrops" come together in a beautiful old-school sounding version. Tresor Records ambient stalwart TV Victor plies his vision to present a hypnotic take on the gently elevating “Thought Process”. 

Part Two picks up the pace, heading further down the timeline with “Flash Food”—originally released in 1995 as part of one of the label’s famous annual compilations, re-edited by Sandwell District’s Function. Skynet’s punchy classic on the flip, “Skyway” rounds off the EP with a killer old-school remix by techno’s masked crusader Redshape.

Part Three concludes with a remix package of The Infiniti Collection’s brooding slow-burner “Think Quick”, backed with an offering from one of Berlin’s revered electronic practitioners Sleeparchive and the re-release of Moritz Von Oswald's remix, initially released on Metroplex in 1994 - a rarity.

Having released two EPs on the label since 2014, Stephen Lopkin now steps up to MOS Deep with a 2x12" release entitled Clyde Built, recorded in his home town Thornliebank. The Scottish artist has been making prickly house and techno for almost a decade. His style is serene and slick, and across the 10 tracks here he manages to conjure tracks that work in the club but that come with plenty of cerebral qualities. 

He never made a secret he takes a lot of influence from early Detroit Techno, even Several track titles pay direct homage to his musical heroes like Derrick May, Kevin Saunderson, Carl Craig and also the track New Euro Politique is made in memory of the late UK producer Matt Cogger aka Neuropolitique. 

'Welcome to Nowhere' kicks thing off with languid house grooves and jittery percussion, 'Matrix' is awash with swirling pads and astral grooves and 'New Euro Politique' is a blizzard of kicks, panning percussion and arpeggiated synths that glows bright. There are darker, driving cuts like 'Fridays At Pure', trippy offerings like the title track and more thoughtful and pensive jams such as 'Qinosen'. The final three tracks are busy, electrifying pieces that fire every synapse with their sci-fi fx, crisp drums and cinematic atmospheres. 

The whole album is wrapped up in majestic synth work and every track reveals more layers with each listen. Offering a sublimely complex house and techno sound, these tracks look back to go forwards and do so with a real timelessness.

To celebrate two decades of Skylax Records and a long musical partnership, DJ Sprinkles and Hardrock Striker team up as S.H.E. (SKYLAX HOUSE EXPLOSION) to present the first of three exclusive vinyl releases accompanying the Mix CD for the 20 Years Compilation. All three EPs feature previously unreleased music personally curated by DJ Sprinkles and Hardrock Striker. Under The Garage presents all new music from Move D, Jason Grove & Merwyn Sanders, An Expresso and Signal St as a referential homage to the 80s club of New York City; a space that commercially paved the way for the evolution of dance music (music of the “house”) as well as spaces around which queer communities could feel safe - all to the sounds of DJs like Larry Levan and Frankie Knuckles. Jason Grove is a long-time collaborator with Skylax, along with Signal St who has released on its sub label - Wax Classic - as Garage Shelter, but for Move D, it is his first outing on the imprint. Move D is one of the few veteran deep house DJs still touring consistently having started out in the early nineties. Of course he is synonymous with more than just house music, but when he operates within the boundaries of the genre, the German producer’s sound allies closely with both the Skylax imprint and the DJ Sprinkles record bag; the latter, known to feature many of his tracks including Your Personal Healer making David Moufang’s presence on the compilation all the more relevant. Sharing the A side with Move D and collaborating with Jason Grove is the highly adept Merwyn Sanders from Chicago who, most recently, reissued the in-demand 2000 (And We're Still Here) EP featuring the deep house ear worm, Mimi Likes To Dance. Grove’s slamming-but-smooth style is ever-present as is Merwyn’s taste for sleek production hooks, which can be found throughout Deep in Your Heart. Out of Anaheim in California, An Expresso was signed 5 years ago to Skylax but has already cut his teeth on a few high profile records in house as well as garage and hip hop. His aptly named cut on the compilation, Club Called The Garage opens the mix by DJ Sprinkles, its ghostly reverberated vocal samples are ominously placed as if coming from a place of remembrance (as distinct from nostalgia); moving and dark, especially from a producer so young. The processes of the post-industrial consumer society in which you most likely reside have made the remembrance of small, queer spaces as they pertain to the origin of once-hyper specific genres virtually impossible. We are sold a narrative that relates less to the origins of such marginalised communities and more to what major distributors have decided will sell. It is only through the work of labels like Skylax Records and DJ Sprinkles’ Comatonse Recordings that the origins of house music find their way into the record bags of contemporary DJs. Skylax has a long relationship with DJ Sprinkles and since its early days of Parisonic, has always maintained: Stay Underground, It Pays! Red Ember Records are an Australian label that originally started dishing out records in the late 90s to early 2000s. After a significant hiatus, they began releasing tunes again in 2016 with Ewan Jansen's record Aqua Libre. Although they spent 15 years in the dark, their return almost resembles the opening of a time capsule - allowing listeners to experience the raw energy and enthusiasm of dance musics not-so-distant past.  

In their latest outing, Melbourne’s Tim Jackiw sojourns over to Red Ember’s camp delivering tales of a romantic dystopian future. After the journeyman’s housey opener reports for duty, the musical adventure stomps into a tropical ecosystem where both organic and synthetic percolate harmoniously. The B side accelerates forward, tensely folding with emotional urgency towards the titular electro epilogue of "Planet Fall" (which you can listen to here).

2020 had hit us all hard, but there's always something there to lift you up. LBD Sounds have lifted the lid under which they were hiding these 5 little gems, crafted in now defunct dungeon somewhere in London.

Aptly named homegrown collaboration between label boss Olin & tireless electronic experimenter Dempa floats between breakbeats and off-kilter techno and comprises of 3 original tracks + 2 remixes.
Self confessed broken beat victim Nothus from Milan serves up his relentless peak-time take on 64 Pad Experiment and one and only Aubrey, who never rests on his laurels, offers his super trippy remix of Perlenbacher.

The EP comes out on Bandcamp-only digital and super limited hand numbered to 50-copies 12" dubplate private press vinyl, supporting Prague based DYI cutting company Losna.

At midnight, on March 13th 1991, a basement door opened at Leipziger Strasse 126, Berlin. Through this door, many passed, on their way to defining new terrains in electronic music. There they found a dance floor in the vaults of a closed-down department store, with a unique sound bound to dense fog, building night after night a history that was also a vision of the future. 

This history has seen in Jeff Mills’ first sets on three turntables, Underground Resistance's first live appearances in Europe, grandiose Tresor Park parties, to various chapters of the Loveparade with Sven Väth in the 90s and since then countless generation-spanning parties. These moments represent the highlights of infinite personal clubbing experiences. It is the manifestation of the Berlin spirit, emerging from its considerable strife. This history is not without its complications - from temporary closure by the authorities and several raids in the early years to closure and demolition of the old location in 2005. What followed was years of wandering in exile and, finally, resurrection in the new home in Kraftwerk Berlin.

These stories, conversations and shared experiences within our walls forge a resilience that drives towards a shared ideal, the Tresor sound: community, resistance, and the world to come. This was observed in the newly re-unified German youth, who danced and celebrated together from the club’s inception, and into the present day through ongoing community work in Detroit. 

Tresor Records was founded in the same year and began to serve as a platform for exporting the new sounds associated with Tresor all around the world. Emergent musicians from Michigan, such as Juan Atkins, Underground Resistance and Drexciya, were pivotal in shaping these early years. Their visits to Berlin would kick-start dialogue between the youth movement in Europe and these musicians. This story is one of friendship and community-building, inextricably linked with cities like Detroit, Birmingham or Edinburgh, where like-minded friends built something truly special, where revelatory rhythms soundtrack decaying industry in corrupted metropoles. 

Tresor Records has been the fertile soil for dozens upon dozens of creative minds, from the very luminaries of the scene who developed electronic music over the last three decades through to contemporary protagonists who are currently defining the sound of the future -  A more than 300 strong catalogue displays an unmistakable identity - the Tresor spirit.

To those that have danced before, and to those that will dance in the future: the light at the end of the long Tresor tunnel is a signal. A flicker amidst the fog. This is our future. This is our place.
