ELECTRIC INDIGO
DJ, composer, musician, who has performed in 45 countries across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. She represents an intelligent and distinguished interpretation of techno and electronic music and founded the transnational female:pressure network. Her DJ-sets are characterized by a wide variety with a clarity of vision and a depth that comes from a deep understanding of the music and the art of DJing. As a composer and musician, she creates music for concert spaces and clubs, and occasionally for stage plays and short films. In her compositions and live performances, she emphasizes the spatial placement and precise structures of subtly elaborated sounds, often generated with granular synthesis. She premiered her works at festivals like Wien Modern, Musikprotokoll, CTM or Heroines of Sound and composed for Klangforum Wien. Her latest album "Ferrum" was released on Editions Mego in March 2020. The Republic of Austria awarded Electric Indigo the Kunstpreis Musik 2020.

And yet another Berlins sloping upward talent joins Hapësira podocast series, @cecilia_berlin who's mom of the collective SEV Berlin, provides (in collaboration with different established artists and manager from the scene) practical and theoretical knowledge to facilitate independence in club culture. It not only supports newcomers in various formats (events, workshops, talks), but also promotes exchange among the players in club culture.

She has been DJing internationally for four years now and since then every year her BPM strangely increases by an average of 4 BPM.

She started with Deep House and Dub Techno, today she mainly plays Minimal, Dub and mainly Techno. Her debut EP „Run With The Wolves“ came out in the beginning of this year on her freshly baked record label SEV Records.

The last and so far biggest project she started in collaboration with other collectives is the new open air space CURA Berlin. There she takes over the booking and other duties.

Some dancefloors she played: Wilde Renate, Garbicz Festival, Golden Gate, Douala, Sputnik/Tel Aviv, Pergamon/Jerusalem, Crie de la Mouette/Toulouse, HÖR Berlin.

Tresor Records recently announced the coming of Jonas Kopp’s debut album ‘Beyond The Hypnosis’, set for release in November 2014. Presenting Kopp at his most wayfaring, the album shows off the producer’s flare for spacey, subaqueous music. This new episode of Tresor.Cast pushes further in this direction, with a subtle ambient selection that closes on Jonas Kopp’s ‘528 Hz’ title, also the closing number for ‘Beyond The Hypnosis’.

Signed to Nicolas Jaar's subscription based Other People imprint, this week Lucrecia followed her Syzygy album with the minimalist S/T EP and we knew right away that her sparse sonic style would bring something special to i-D's Slumber Session. "Something very subtle has happened. It's as if reality has been tilted, or perhaps, someone like you had slowly inclined it, or even worse, had consciously crooked it, just like that! Oh, tell me, tell me! If you have noticed how have I been slowly sliding, is there an edge here, or?

I'm tiring of it now, I'm left with the draws. I do want you to love me, but more I want you to let me love you, let me crave you, let me do anything to you at any moment express my appreciation for you, lie down with you over and over, feel everything, your skin, your breath, your fluids, the whole you and in holding you let there be for that moment no difference between us, nothing that cannot be. TF #175: @cassegrain [Arcing Seas] - Berlín

In techno circles, Cassegrain shouldn't need too much of an introduction. With a label résumé that includes, among others, Prologue, Infrastructure New York, Killekill, and Ostgut Ton—as well as highly regarded performances at Berghain, Village Underground, and Output—they've more than stamped their name on the scene. Alex Tsiridis and Hüseyin Evirgen—the two artists behind Cassegrain—formed the project after a chance meeting at the Redbull Music Academy in Barcelona. In the years following, they collaborated remotely via email, sending stems back and forth before making a move to Berlin where they currently share a studio.

Cassegrain are releasing their music mainly on their own label Arcing Seas. Under their solo monikers they are also steadily putting out great music. Magna Pia recently had a new EP out on Soma Records and Rhyw on great platforms like Shifted's label Avian.

The Forgotten CLXXV: Cassegrain

At midnight, on March 13th 1991, a basement door opened at Leipziger Strasse 126, Berlin. Through this door, many passed, on their way to defining new terrains in electronic music. There they found a dance floor in the vaults of a closed-down department store, with a unique sound bound to dense fog, building night after night a history that was also a vision of the future. 

This history has seen in Jeff Mills’ first sets on three turntables, Underground Resistance's first live appearances in Europe, grandiose Tresor Park parties, to various chapters of the Loveparade with Sven Väth in the 90s and since then countless generation-spanning parties. These moments represent the highlights of infinite personal clubbing experiences. It is the manifestation of the Berlin spirit, emerging from its considerable strife. This history is not without its complications - from temporary closure by the authorities and several raids in the early years to closure and demolition of the old location in 2005. What followed was years of wandering in exile and, finally, resurrection in the new home in Kraftwerk Berlin.

These stories, conversations and shared experiences within our walls forge a resilience that drives towards a shared ideal, the Tresor sound: community, resistance, and the world to come. This was observed in the newly re-unified German youth, who danced and celebrated together from the club’s inception, and into the present day through ongoing community work in Detroit. 

Tresor Records was founded in the same year and began to serve as a platform for exporting the new sounds associated with Tresor all around the world. Emergent musicians from Michigan, such as Juan Atkins, Underground Resistance and Drexciya, were pivotal in shaping these early years. Their visits to Berlin would kick-start dialogue between the youth movement in Europe and these musicians. This story is one of friendship and community-building, inextricably linked with cities like Detroit, Birmingham or Edinburgh, where like-minded friends built something truly special, where revelatory rhythms soundtrack decaying industry in corrupted metropoles. 

Tresor Records has been the fertile soil for dozens upon dozens of creative minds, from the very luminaries of the scene who developed electronic music over the last three decades through to contemporary protagonists who are currently defining the sound of the future -  A more than 300 strong catalogue displays an unmistakable identity - the Tresor spirit.

To those that have danced before, and to those that will dance in the future: the light at the end of the long Tresor tunnel is a signal. A flicker amidst the fog. This is our future. This is our place.
