From Home&Away to Coronation Street and on DJing is typical day in Beryl's life. This house gangster spends her days with her feet up, crate digging for the best underground beats. She has many years of experience and has been around since the birth of house. Witnessing the changes in styles and fashion booms of the industry. 

Beryl has deep roots in the electronic music scene due to her first love, 
Dr. Robert Moog. Their relationship ended due to his dedication to produce the infamous Moog synth. Although their love life came to an end she cant help but see that something special had been created in that loveable synthesiser.

Her frequent trips to Chicago to disco dance were changed forever by the introduction to Marshall Jefferson and Frankie Knuckles and their disco edits. They laid down speeded up disco grooves that caught the attention of this budding music enthusiast.

After that trip through the contacts she made Beryl received a very special gift in the post from the Roland Corporation. To Beryl's amazement she received a Roland TR-808 and Roland TB-303. This was a sign to get to work! 

This was the era of production and Beryl's first steps into the studio. She quickly got to know her way around and laid down some infectious rhythms. Beryl has been a pioneering audio engineer ever since and forges the sounds that have been used on a number of well know hits. She then opened up her studio based in Upper St. Jacques to some of the locals and keen individuals. Beryl wanted to give something back to the younger generation through workshops and teen learning classes.

Beryl took youngsters such as Mike Pickering and Graeme Park under her wing and educated them in electronic music. Also sparking up inspiration in a little boys heart by Baby-sitting a family friend's son Alexander Coe (Sasha). Readying him bed time stories to the sound of piano chords. These stories were based around the birth place and history of Detroit's techno music scene. Giving him night time heroes such as Juan Atkins, Derrick May, and Kevin Saunderson. Little know fact she also used to cut his hair and encouraged him to grow that recognisable long pony tail that we all knew and loved.

in the early 80's Beryl, teamed up with Tony Wilson and became a silent partner and consultant for clubs such as the Hacienda and Turnmills. 

Now Beryl is of an extinguished age and has given so much of her life to her passion of music. She has hung up her business and raving shoes to put on the slippers and relax. She's going back to her first love of production of her own sounds and DJing. Her studio sessions now, full of Phat Beats, Rocking chairs, Tea's and Fig Rolls.
