Cooked up with a more melodic vibe and fusing elements of house and techno, Dense & Pika’s latest outing on Drumcode offers something different compared to their previous work. There is still that vintage feel to each of the tracks with analogue sounds and arrangements born and developed from experimental studio jams. Indeed, ‘Suki’ heavily utilizes the distinct harmonic tones of the Dave Smith Prophet 8 keyboard. While ‘Little Sun’ - A staple of D&P performances over the last three months - delivers a more classic Drumcode sound. ‘Lanky’ closes out the release with an infectious slab of wonderfully wonked-out raw funk.

That won't be the case for long, though, with his debut LP on the horizon and the first taste has arrived exclusively here on ​Mixmag​. '1+1' is his lead single off the record, made in collaboration with Thomas Gandey. ​"'1+1' [is about] my girlfriend and I, my mother and I, my team and I, Suara and I, my music and I, the world and I," Coyu explains. "Because without the people you love and all that you love you are nothing. But also, it is the communion of my two great passions: techno and house music.​"

Following their sold-out date at Manchester’s iconic Albert Hall for an Edible x Kaluki special, Bristol’s Eats Everything has unveiled his collaboration with Chicago DJ/producer Green Velvet on their latest production, ‘Complex’ - released via Relief Records on 19th April.

‘Complex’ continues Eats Everything’s close relationship with the Chicago-based label, following 2017’s rumbling release, ‘Loud’. The hypnotic track, which also features Green Velvet on vocal duties, is certain to impact dancefloors worldwide and continue to cement the duos reputation as underground production powerhouses.

The record precedes Eat’s recently announced monthly summer residency at Berlin superclub, Watergate. The 3-date residency will open on the 25th of April alongside Ilario Alicante, with subsequent dates on 23rd May alongside Andres Campo and Trucante, before closing on the 20th June with Kristin Velvet.

The groove-laden three-track release represents a clear departure from the darker techno
sound of TRICK’s maiden release ‘Watch What Ya Doing’ - further demonstrating Topping’s
versatility as a producer. Kicking off proceedings, the EP’s title track is underpinned by an
infectious vocal sample and the funkiest of beats. While over on the B-side, ‘Let Wa Gan’ is a
darker, moodier number and ‘Galaxy’, featuring the scintillating vocals of Liset Alea, is a
celestial melodic stomper. The collaboration with Liset came about after Topping heard her
vocals on Alex Kid’s ‘Don’t Hide It’. The track quickly became a staple in his sets and he
made the decision to reach out to the Cuban-born singer shortly after.

Elliot Adamson and Justin Jay collaborate on Patrick Topping’s Trick for an energetic release entitled ‘Send It’, featuring vocals from DABJ's Big Miz and a remix from Dance Mania legend DJ Deeon. 
Since debuting in recent years both artists have been on a perpetual rise. UK artist Adamson continues to be one of the most talked-about house producers who self-released three albums on his [IDEA] label last year, receiving his second Hottest Record in The World from BBC Radio 1’s Annie Mac and later saw him nominated for Best Producer at DJ Mag’s Best Of British Awards. He’s since become resident and assistant A&R for Trick parties and label. 
Hailing from Los Angeles, Justin Jay is an artist who’s carved a niche halfway between the world of club music and the psych/indie/jam rock-scene. He’s been named a Future Star by Pete Tong and made the cover of January’s edition of DJ Mag as part of the Dirtybird Records crew, but is equally known for his multidimensional live shows, his expressive singing/songwriting, and being the captain of his band/collective/record label - Fantastic Voyage. 
‘Send It’ is a tough cut driven forward using lively percussion, a heady bassline and infectious vocal cuts from young Scot, Big Miz. ‘Take A Ride’ ups the tempo, blending thudding house with disco tropes, sporadically breaking up the arrangement with an upbeat vox sample. Maintaining the release’s momentum, ‘Get Mental’ is the third original on the package and is destined to inject energy into any dancefloor with its relentless kicks and analogue bassline. 
DJ Deeon remixes ‘Send It’, incorporating relentless snares and squelchy acid - demonstrating why the Chicago based icon is one of the very greats and hasn't stopped producing ghetto house tracks that do nothing but bang.

Trick is an acclaimed dance music label and event brand owned and curated by global dance music icon, Patrick Topping.

The Newcastle native launched Trick in 2019 as a platform to spot and champion emerging artists, both in the studio and behind the decks. Since then, Trick has become one of the scene's most popular underground dance music event brands and record labels, launching the careers of some of the UK's biggest ticket-sellers and creating a cult fan following along the way.

As a record label, Trick is set to his 100 releases in 2024 and has given an outlet to many new signings who have since become some of the fastest-rising stars in the UK, such as Ben Hemsley, Hannah Laing and Ewan McVicar, who delivered platinum-certified “Tell Me Something Good” along the way. 

Trick's loyal fanbase has become one of the most passionate communities in dance music, with fans sporting Trick's signature lightning bolt on merchandise and tattoos at events throughout the UK and beyond. From completing a 9-date residency in 2022 at Ibiza's legendary DC10, to hosting a stage at EDC Orlando 2022, to attracting 10,000 ravers to The Warehouse Project in Manchester and bringing thousands to an Australian Debut in Melbourne in 2023. Then there is the Trick Weekenders, Budapest in 2022 and Tenerife in 2023. These events both saw 2,500 Trick Troops holiday and party together abroad, with Trick Tenerife this year set to double in size.

In 2024 Patrick is set to give back to his roots, bringing legions of fans to his hometown of Newcastle this summer 2024 with the launch of Trick Fest. Trick will also return to Ibiza, hosting a four-date residency in Hï’s Theatre on Wednesdays.
