We are stoked to present our next release from our talented friend Chris Mitchell co-owner of Vanguard Sound and Anunnaki Cartel. His releases span a variety of labels such as Sistrum, Plan B Recordings, Proper Traxx, Sound Kemystry and Argumento, as well as his own imprint. Chris’ emphasis in sound ranges from futuristic, soulful, to raw and gritty. Lost Voices is composed of five tracks that combines proto electro, body music, raw synths, acid and chopped up voices, a perfect combination to destroy the dance floor, with remixes from GAËL, Filmmaker and Dim Deck.

PREMIERE: Chris Mitchell - What [Pildoras Tapes]

The new digital exclusive Squirrels On Film release is from Floridian squirrel funk master Chris Mitchel, four potent doses of lysergic cyber boogie for putting bodies in motion. 

“Listen” revs things into gear with an uptempo mechanized body music pandemonium, jittery spasms of disorienting electro-punk, face-melting extra-terrestrial footwork bounce. 

“Izo” is peak time electro business, walloping kick drums and clattering rimshots, syncopated bleeps and bass. The initial red-lined blast pulls back to reveal capital “F” Funk at its heart, then builds back  a to maximal dancefloor crescendo.

“No Te Confundas” is a cyber-goth slow jam, New Jack Swing with black eyeliner and bondage gear. The slower tempo allows the funk to breath in a murky cavernous swamp of dub. It's time get between the sheets... of Acid.

“Don't Know” kicks off with bombastic 808s piercing through sheets of static before settling into nasty, impolite machine funk. Disembodied robotic vocals duet with an alien machine language of squeaks and squelches over bass heavy throb of drums, dissolving into malfunctioning electronics, dying batteries, and white noise.

Lovingly mastered by Industrial Techno O.G. wizard Mark Pistel, and accompanied by an original image from visual warlock Bert Bergen, Squirrels On film is delighted to share this ultra-sensory experience for the body and mind.
Whether breakdancing, head-banging, tearing up the mosh-pit at the rave, or dancing cheek to cheek with your crush at the after-party, Chris Mitchell delivers the funk that could only come from outer space or Florida. Dig It.

With just a handful of releases on labels such as Solar One, Shipwrec, and Brokntoys, Luxus Varta has fast established himself as one of the most unique sounding producers in the field of electro music, an artist whose tracks stand miles apart from common genre tropes. A frequent collaborator of Detroit Grand Pubahs, Luxus Varta is by no means a stranger to dancefloor functionality, yet his music runs deeper, baring its electronic soul through intricate songwriting and immaculate sound design. 
“Colder” is a homage to human solitude, a reflection on the breakdown of human relationships, when callousness takes over from emotion, and physical contact becomes but a perfunctory exercise. Luxus Varta translates these feelings into five tracks that contrast harshness with beauty, distance with immediacy. From bass-propelled opener “Flash Tension” to melancholic finale “Invisible”, complex melodies and translucent synths are set against a background of abrasive noises, bitcrushed effects, and Luxus Varta’s unmistakably inventive beat making. 
“Colder” is Luxus Varta’s first release for the TRUST label, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. The 12” version ships in transparent vinyl with sleeves designed by dextro.org.
