'The Random Jazz EP' is the dynamite new release from Music For Freaks maestro, Justin Harris, who makes his swell debut on the I'm A House Gangster label. The fun title track 'Random Jazz' tips it's hat to Big Band Jazz, loaded with a catchy piano hook, brass stabs and vocal samples drizzled over a dope House groove. 'Galaga' is an energetic number with a frantic Space Invader fused key hook that scuttles through a nucleus of bleeps and raw Jackin beats, aimed squarely at the floor! Also on the package Justin includes a tasty dub of 'Random Jazz' and a cool slowed down dub version of 'Galaga' for the deeper heads.

"This EP was written especially with Carlos and the IAHG collective in mind.... I'm a fan of Sneak and his sound, always have been and respect what he has done within this industry. I first thought the EP up when I was hanging with him, Mark Farina and Luke Solomon at the IAHG party at Sonar, Barcelona. Justin Harris' illustrious musical career started out with him DJ'ing in warehouses, fields and clubs around the UK in the late 80's. Alongside such luminaries as DIY Sound System, Nigel Casey (House of 909), Mr. C, Eddie Richards, Colin Dale and a host of other legendary DJ's, Justin has definitely played a big part in forging the scene into the global force it is now. Fast forward to 1995 and he formed what would be a 20 year partnership with Luke Solomon. Freaks was born, along with four albums (most recently 'Psych' on Rebirth Records) and well over 100 EP's. Together they've made remixes for artists such as Matthew Herbert, Derrick Carter, Greenskeepers, Tiefschwarz, Dave Aju, and Gene Farris and Sonny Fodera, to name a few, on esteemed labels like Hot Creations, Visionquest, Circus Company, Crosstown Rebels, Leftroom, Playhouse and Silver Network. Justin has also enjoyed a lucrative solo career, Djing all over the world and also releasing EP's and remixes for  the likes of Classic Recordings, Viva, Natural Rhythm, Something Different, Paper Recordings, Eclectic Avenue Records (EAR), Seamless, Vizual, Punks and Sculpture Recordings, among many. Also for this year Justin has begun a collaboration with Hanfry Martinez calling themselves House Of Warez. They already have a vinyl EP out on Djebali with more to follow.

Justin has also decided to relaunch the seminal Music For Freaks (MFF) record label that he co-owns with Luke Solomon. This will include much of the original Freaks material and catalogue gems with new remixes from Ricardo Villa Lobos, Djebali,Oliver $, House Of Warez, Lee Curtiss, Soulclap, Dave Aju, Honey Dijon, among others, and will also hail the return of the legendary Music For Freaks parties with tour dates around the world.. Audion "Destroyer" - Boiler Room Debuts

After months of threatening intent, ‘The Cartel’ arrives on 25th July to wage war on the ‘establishment’, marking the first shot in the battle with the infectious Latin laced, tribal influenced anthem ‘The Chant’. Head honcho Kryder teams up with a newly invigorated Eddie Thoneick to deliver a percussion heavy beat with a sensational breakdown, a euphoric chant enticing the rest of house music to join and follow the movement. Heavily supported by Steve Angello on both his BBC Radio 1 Residency and his main stage appearance at Tomorrowland Brasil, this provides a big statement of intent for the new label.

PolyRhythm aka North Bergen, New Jersey based DJ and producer duo David+Jonez+and+Val+Carrique make their Piston Recordings debut with the fantastic three tracker entitled No Politics EP. Having started out DJing at just 14 years old playing everything from mainstream Hip Hop to Reggae, the guys quickly established themselves on the scene. After a few years they found house music and flourished in the New York underground scene. The name PolyRhythm started out as their party name and soon became synonymous among party goers looking for their next event. They then adopted the title to produce under and since 2010 they have racked up an impressive list of releases across various top labels. Delighted to have this hugely talented duo on board at Piston. 

No Politics is a solid floor filler with a deep lush groove that will become the pinnacle of any set no doubt. This beautifully tweaked slice of deep house boasts an array of quality sounds, from powerful chunky kicks to warm chords and bright crispy, rhythmic hats. A very cool vocal sits over the sound adding a cool textured layer as the hypnotic keys weave their way through the groove locking us in for the duration. A real mover here and a must have.

Taking It Back intros with a bustling display of sharp percussions alongside a muted kick drum and rising keys. The kicks are beefed up into powerful punchy hits as the shuffling hats and percussions bring out the rhythmic flow of the track. A deep, probing bassline dominates throughout and draws us into its hypnotic groove. High pitched strings sit on top as mid range keys deliver rich textured layers. Quality deep house grooves on offer here that will slot beautifully into any set.

The EgoScene sets off with a nice chunky kick drum and sharp clap combi before bright crispy hats and various percussions come through. The track layers up beautifully building a solid rhythmic flow to the backdrop of a sublime deep bassy groove. Mesmerizing keys are locked into place as the pulsing basses do their thing. On the break we are treated to a cool spoken vocal that is accompanied by those warm keys and pads before the beats return and we are locked into the groove once more. Top quality stuff not to be missed.

<p>Olivier is back on Say What? with his warm, trademarked style and kicks thing off with the title track which is literally a sample-fest ranging from old school snippets to breaks to chopped MC verses.&nbsp; &#8220;Educate Yourself&#8221; is a deeper affair, with classic chords bringing in the good vibes and the mandatory spoken word passage adding to the whole atmosphere.&nbsp; &#8220;Double Tap&#8221; continues in the same vein, with even more emphasis on the Housey chords and subtle layers of drums paving the way for distant, nostalgic vocal snippets.</p>

Between doing a remix with Salt’n Pepa’s original 16-track tapes of ‘Push it’, classical training at a conservatory, playing 5 instruments, founding, releasing records and touring with Indie pop band ‘The Jeremy Days’ in the 80’s, experiencing first hand the birth of acid house, rave and progressive techno, while living in London and Germany in the 90’s, you could certainly say Triggerstrøm has a wealth of experience.

Ask him why that matters in terms of his work as a DJ and you’ll get an answer like: "Because it helps to understand oneself and, with that, the people you play for - oh, and because it is actually a blast!”

Deftly balancing a challenging, yet highly intuitive eclecticism, his live sets are founded in House, Nu-Disco, Afrobeats, IDM, Electronica and Progressive House.

“When I go out to dance, I am hungry” he explains, “hungry for love, freedom, movement and inspiration. If the music of that night feeds some of those cravings and with that those of the audience and listener, I consider it a great night"

His all time fave car that he owned was a white 1979 SAAB 900S and also the same color coded ADIDAS basketball sneakers that matched it. 
He fears the depths of the oceans as much as he finds humor in awkward situations due to cultural differences. 
The less-is-more approach to food, music, architecture and design turns him on. 

Bulgarian-born, raised in Germany. Resident the past 10 years in Los Angeles, via London, NYC and Miami. Played the legendary Golden Pudel in Hamburg and also entertains private events. 

Triggerstrøm is currently resident DJ at Bar Stella in Silver Lake, Los Angeles
