We are very proud to announce what will be our first reference of the year 2022. We welcome the mysterious and newcomer Japanese group YHVHSQUAD who make their debut on our label with their work called "電影 Lightning". YHVHSQUAD has released recent works on the Kurnugû or Zodiac Music labels with a very defined style within experimental Drum & Bass and they come to our label with a 4 Track EP that includes a collaboration with Missive where they take us into their Industrial, psychological and experimental sound, characterized by dirty basses, noises and corrosive distortions combined with wicked drums and percussion. Delighted with this sound proposal, we hope you enjoy the experience!!!

Originally released as a 4 track 2x12" vinyl on Subtle Audio in 2009, a very limited 10 track Subtle Audio CD version followed in 2010 before a licensing deal with Rephlex Records saw the CD widely distributed along with 3 (digital only) bonus tracks. Now that the licensing term with Rephlex has come to an end, we're releasing all 15 tracks from the 3 different formats in one digital download. Seems fitting to do it now, seeing as we are celebrating Subtle Audio's 10th Birthday this year and it's 5 years since the original release of this album.

"Time to enter the insane, weird, drum-centric world of Macc & dgoHn as the Subtle Audio camp proudly delivers its first album long player by this pair of not altogether insane East Londoners.

Subtle Audio has been pushing Drum & Bass with a slighly different slant since 2005 and this album could well be presented as their mission statement, it sums up the distinctive sound of the label perfectly.

Macc & dgoHn favour a breakbeat driven style and they incorporate their beats into ever shifting cinematic arrangements brim full of attitude and experimentation. Individually, their sounds have travelled far beyond the Drum & Bass microcosm and their work has been aired by the likes of Zane Lowe and Mary Anne Hobbs on BBC Radio 1. Aphex Twin is also an admirer and his festival playlists have contained Macc or dgoHn on more than one occasion. Now they unleash a volley of material from their collaborative archive which is set to disarm critics who thought Drum & Bass had run out of rhythms, arrangements and silly album titles. No fear on that, 'Some Shit Saaink' is here!"

Under the moniker Trig, live techno virtuoso Michael West emerges, captivating audiences across New Zealand with his relentless rhythm-driven compositions and electrifying synth melodies. The distinctive Trig style is a fusion of drum machines and modular synthesis, meticulously crafted in the studio and brought to life on stage through the prowess of Ableton Live.

In a prior artistic incarnation, Michael West operated under the alias Sick Cycle, an accomplished drum and bass project with a legacy spanning over two decades. Trig, however, serves as the evolution of these acquired principles, expertly translated into the realm of live techno.

The year 2022 marked Trig's debut onto the scene, characterized by inaugural releases and performances. The inaugural event was the modular synthesis celebration "Modfest," accompanied by its corresponding album "Modfest22." In swift succession, as 2023 unfolded, the esteemed Christchurch collective Kind of Green extended invitations for Trig to grace several events and contribute to the label's discography. The release "Trig - Entity/Player 67," labeled as KOG003, garnered widespread acclaim within the music community. Notably, the track "Entity" secured a prominent position within the top 10 rotation on RDU radio station for multiple weeks.

Trig plays a pivotal role in promoting the utilization of modular synthesis and drum machines within the realm of music.
