After losing many family and friends to street violence, D.M. made it his initiative to reflect positivity in his music. D.M. says: “I fell in love with being able to communicate with people through music and I found peace in singing and expressing how I was feeling”. 
His original sound is backed by a lifetime of musical influences. Growing up in Toronto, surrounded by a 
musical family, meant that D.M. was always surrounded by a variety of musical genres. Despite 
their hardships and struggles, one thing that stayed prevalent in their lives was music. 
As a solo artist, D.M. creates compilations of feel good party music, infused with hip-hop/soulful
