"Thousand and One" is inspired by the story of Scheherazade and Sultan Shahriyar. After discovering his wife's infidelity, the Sultan decided to kill each of his wives the day after their wedding to prevent a potential betrayal. To save his life and that of other women, Scheherazade began telling stories that fascinated him every night, always ending them when they piqued his curiosity. This led the Sultan to spare her, and over time, he fell in love with her. The piece captures this extraordinary relationship, full of tension but also a gradual warmth and understanding. In the background, there's a sense of oriental magic, mystery, and the power of stories that have endured for centuries. This is a story about the power of words, wisdom, and love that arises where we least expect it. The lyrics offer hope that untamed and deadly force can be transformed into love, and that one should never give up, even when the situation seems hopeless.

Krzysztof Wartak's inspiration for "Malovana" brought selected works of art to life through sound, emotion, and narrative. The songs encompass a wide range of texts, also touching on vivid historical figures and timeless events. The results of this unprecedented project will be experienced during concerts organized by the Malovana band in 2025, where outstanding musicians will perform. Their interpretations will transform many works of art and historical events from now on.

Leán is a trio formed by Silke Clarysse, Otto Kint and Gielis Cautaers. In 2014 they met in Brussels and decided to share their passion for world music. They successfully combine guitar compositions from African, Latin-American and Mediterranean origin with a jazzy double bass and subtle handpercussion. At the beginning of September 2016, Leán released their first album, called Pangea.
Silke studied classical guitar with Raphaella Smits and Adrien Brogna at the Lemmensinstitute of Leuven. Gielis graduated in percussion with Leo Ouderits. Afterwards he went to study jazz vibraphone with Guy Cabay at the ‘Conservatoire de Bruxelles’. Otto finished his studies at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels with Christophe Wallemme and Bart Denolf.
