The Desert Cannot Chill Out

Enmossed and Psychic Liberation are pleased to present the first vinyl album in their ongoing collaborative series 𝑬𝑵𝒙𝑷𝑳, focusing on new music spanning the globe, utilizing high-end and recycled materials. Transatlantic duo Unt gifts us with 𝑪𝒍𝒊𝒑𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝑷𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒑𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆, synthesizing a multiplicity of genres - ranging from dub techno to screwed hiphop instrumentals, with hints of jazz, avant-garde composition, and new age music - into a personal conversation.

Unt is a collaboration between Chicago-based drummer and improviser John Daniel (FKA Forest Management) and artist, producer, and musician Florian T M Zeisig.

The pair began working together in early 2020, just before lockdowns, during Daniel’s last European tour performing as Forest Management. Starting as a jam session in Zeisig’s bedroom, 𝑪𝒍𝒊𝒑𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝑷𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒑𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆 is their debut effort, combining both artists’ engagement with free-form electronic music. The album is the result of a growing friendship and sharing of each other's perspectives. Daniel and Zeisig recorded the tracks in an iterative manner - constantly adding and replacing ideas both metaphorically and literally - in conversation as well as separately.

As an expression of exploring the meaning of collaboration from different perspectives - in terms of listening to each other and musical language - 𝑪𝒍𝒊𝒑𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝑷𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒑𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆 ultimately reflects on exchange in its many forms.

𝑪𝒍𝒊𝒑𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝑷𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒑𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆 also results from an ongoing process of personal development - breaking negative cyclical patterns, and realizing the depth and beauty of self by uncovering and unfolding one’s mind and personality beyond our current societal cues.

Ghostride The Drift - B1

Inspired by open spaces (and the objects that interrupt them), META DOOR L is the latest auditory excursion from Perila. Expansive in scope, it extracts beauty from the organic and inorganic alike, tapping into the wonder of the outdoors as it revels in the unique properties of metal—both as a material and a sound source. Building on her work for labels like Sferic, Motion Ward, and Boomkat Editions, META DOOR L is rooted in field recordings extracted from the wilderness outside Tbilisi, where a series of hiking expeditions led Perila to chance encounters with metal tubes, large rocks and the ruins of an old house. In the months that followed, these recordings were patiently processed, degraded and transformed, their misshapen remains welded together by hazy ambient atmospheres and textured soundscapes. From there, the St. Petersburg-raised, Berlin-based artist pushed herself into new creative territory, searching for the innate (and decidedly non-linear) rhythms lurking within her dense sonic stratigraphy. META DOOR L is the hypnotic end result, an immersive listen whose lush tones and guttural rumbles coalesce into something utterly transportive.

Ent I Pse

Under their exael moniker, Berlin-based producer Naemi makes highly imaginative music that can be seen as a study in contrasts- precise, hyper-detailed drum programming sits atop fuzzy, organic pools of ambience, virtuosic futurism is wrung from a falling apart laptop. Following a string of excellent releases, both solo and in group settings, “Flowered Knife Shadows” features eight productions that feel like the full realization of the project, demonstrating the artist’s range and knack for vivid, pressurized productions. From the dextrous, chops-flexing “Koch Metish” to the sanguine “Reality’s Sweetheart,” Naemi’s clarity of vision and instantly recognizable aesthetic are delivered here with remarkable potency. Frost on the window, whispers in the dark.
