I made the majority of Vertigo in a week. Definitely the worst week of this entire year for me, which almost definitely had a huge impact on how the track sounded. I was experimenting with sine harmonics for that lead synth and i made quite a mournful little Arp melody and then built the entire track around that. I have a strong dislike for simple ABAB structures in tunes (most of the time), so my compulsion was to just let it end in a drawn out, epic pad section. So yea that's why that is in there.
I don't really tend to put any personal meaning into songs so i can't really write something cool along the lines of:
"It's an evening in autumn. Your standing at a train station and it's time to move on. You're scared of letting go but you have to move on. This is the soundtrack for that."
That sounds cool and all but it's just not what it is. I ended up with a sad melody and because I was sad I made a sad track. Then i needed some ambience and found a field recording of a train station so I layered that over the end. That's it. Sorry for that peek behind the curtain.
What I can say though is that this track deserves a big thanks to Wally https://soundcloud.com/coman-dante who graciously provided me with some amazing Reese basses, one of which is the basis for the bassline in this song. Absolute legend.

cRème 007: Fernanda Martins

For the past fifteen years Argentinian-born, Barcelona-based producer Juan Pablo Pfirter has been pushing a sound by turns steely, dark and uplifting, true to the founding principles of the techno tetramorph but eager to throw his own vanguard, personal touch into the mix.

From the early days onward, whether expressing himself via DJing, producing or as a label owner, Pfirter has worked his magic with focus and style, gracing the likes of CLR, Figure, Mord and Stroboscopic Artefacts with choice singles whilst headlining some of the most respected electronic music bastions and events including Berghain, Tresor, Concrete, Awakenings and Time Warp. Ever since he embarked on his first European tour back in 2005, Juan Pablo has worked tirelessly at shaping one of the most idiosyncratic sounds in contemporary electronic music. It’s a sound which combines the heavy thump of stadium-sized kicks with textured organic relief and hypnotic sub-bass motifs a thousand listens couldn’t diminish.

2006 saw the birth of Pfirter Own imprint, MindTrip, which has become one of the brightest beacons in the ever-changing techno landscape.The label serves as both a vessel for his own output and that of his close friends and collaborators, including luminaries such as Jonas Kopp, Stanislav Tolkachev, Dold, Kashpitzky, Oliver Rosemann and Flug. In parallel, MindTrip has also flourished through its monthly podcast series, welcoming the likes of Antigone, The Lady Machine, TWR72, Nørbak, Jeroen Search and more exciting, singular artists, all invited to present an session of music that captures the spirit and values of MindTrip.

This was the first date of my Asian/Australian tour and the first time in China. 
It was hard to know in advance what to play especially being programmed after Dax J, so i didn't go full-on hardcore from the start, obviously.

However a 90min build up and eclectic mix with old, new and unreleased things(as usual) happened. :)
