A photograph that someone takes
In evening light that somehow makes
A halo of your hair

The contour of your face belongs
To whispered words of quiet songs
That linger in the air

Sometimes what cannot be said
Is written there behind my head
In fire in the sky

Why is the story always written ’tween the lines
I wonder why sometimes

Sometimes I’m awake again
At one or two, or three am
But it’s no clearer then

Sometimes I reach in empty air,
To squeeze your hand when it’s not there
I’m in my head again

Sometimes when my river runs, in silence under crushing tons 
Of ordinary days
And all the things we can’t discuss, will weave around the pair of us 
And go their separate ways

The power of the ocean swell
To pull me off my feet

A history that’s not begun
The list of things that’s said and done
Is always incomplete

Sometimes (Original - Rough Sketch)

As I was recording a funk track for Rich and me, it started to sound like the soundtrack for a late 60s/early 70s-era car chase movie. Once we realized that, we were ALL IN. Out came the wah pedal, and Rich even cut a fun video for the song, pulling from several old school car chase movies...including BULLITT!  You can check it out here...

Inspired by the poem "Murió al amanecer" or "He died at Dawn" by Federico Garcia Lorca which ends:

Me and Zandra was jamming this track some while ago just after I finished it. And it just sounded so wonderful and we just felt that we need to record it and make like a smooth version that could work well in a live situation.  So here it is.. 
I also tried to record my cajon drum for the first time.. and sounded pretty ok in my opinion... no? :)
