Foremost international techno outlet Drumcode is delighted to announce the release of its next full-length album, ‘Satellite’, by enduring Italian techno talent Sam Paganini.

Though he has been active since the mid nineties, recent years have been hugely successful for Sam, with searing techno EPs coming on revered labels such as Riche Hawtin’s Plus8, Sven Vath’s Cocoon and of course, Adam Beyer’s Drumcode. In his time he has been responsible for underground hits like ‘Zoe’, ‘Polyester’ and ‘Fire In My Arms’, all of which demonstrate his dynamic understanding of sexy, dark and hypnotic techno grooves and at the same time have earned him plenty of great Beatport chart positions as well as respect from the best in the game.

Incredibly, ‘Satellite’ is Sam’s first full-length album. Informed by his DJ gigs at legendary places like Berghain in Berlin and Cielo in New York, the album starts with a dystopian bit of sonic scene setting, as if a space ship is charging up ready to take off.

From there it’s a case of getting straight down to business. ‘Another Chance’ is a spacey bit of cantering techno and ‘White’ is rooted in devastating kick drums and is riddled with serrated synth lines that build lots of great techno pressure. ‘Down’ is an undulating bit of funky techno complete with choice vocal flourishes and tracks like ‘Lotus’ are prime offerings from the deeper end of the scale.

No two tracks sound the same on Satellite: Sam is always teasing out a new bit of texture, nailing a slightly different vibe or exploring different amounts of light and dark throughout the course of this most excellent album. This is evidenced by diverse cuts like ‘Dusty’, ‘Toxic’ and ‘Rave’.

Despite ‘Satellite’ being Sam’s debut album, it showcases his seductive style in all its glory across 12 fantastic tracks that will leave you begging for more.

For Amentia, music is a surge of emotions. Building on their classical training and many years of jazz practice as percussionist and pianist respectively, Etienne and Raphaël join Chapter 24 with an EP that is a typically bold, heavily musical fusion of styles.

Expressive and improvised musicianship is a common thread through the originals on the EP. Title track Prince Des Marais is a delicate dancefloor-oriented cut, built around a killer hook and rolling techno hats. It is followed by Luciole, a deeper exploration which conjures images of hazy summers and distant shores. Finally Epicéa closes the package, striking a balance between more driving beats and a strong sense of melancholia.

A hefty dose of power is added to proceedings by John Monkman’s Edition of Prince Des Marais. Monkman - who graces some of the biggest labels in the game including Kompakt, Get Physical, Anjunadeep and Rebellion - is on a fine run of form and his remix marks out the start to a big 2017 for him.

Finally, Chapter 24 bosses Sam Pauli and Más Black step up in the first in a series of Edits as part of their new VVerses project. The Luciole Fire Edit is a groovier, darker and more stripped down rework that retains the musicality and edge of the original.

The first EP of the year for Chapter 24 lays out five new stories in sound of typically high quality as the stars realign and the signs of the future start to reveal themselves.

Early support from the likes of Kölsch, Nick Warren, Above & Beyond, Noir, Edu Imbernon, Robert Babicz, Gabriel Ananda, Eelke Kleijn, Betoko, Lee Van Dowski, Petar Dundov and many more.

Released on Friday 24th February.

The mastermind behind the label, Definition himself returns with a massive new solo release, Falling EP. With his last solo release nearly a year back, one look at the tracklist gives us an idea why; 5 new and exclusive works – quality takes time.

The title track opens the EP in a deep and melodic landscape burning low and steady. The vocal cuts bring an ethereal vibe as the synths crescendo and the kick beats on.

Next Dimitri shows us another side, ‘Tulipe Noir’ engages us in an electric fantasy full of swirling arpeggios cloaked in retro vibes. The collaboration with his friend Def:Play spends a tribute to an old Soul, which introduced them and kicked off the start for a beautiful friendship. A beautiful adventure right from the begin, thanks to a stunning arrangement and a knack for flow.

‘Emotions’ drops us in a world of deep heavy kicks with tense air between them. The pads rise. The reason for our journey is clear as the floor throbs with bass. But that’s not all, the waters get warmer, and the sun does shine, if only briefly.

Turning up the groove, ‘Gone’ melts the tension with a smooth groove and a solid drive. By the middle of the track, we’re caught with a contagious rhythm and natural swing.

The final track of the EP is perhaps its warmest – a beautiful break-beat adventure fantastically vocalized by Liu Bei. ‘Rise Again’ is that upbeat catchy summer tune you just can’t get enough of – done tastefully and elegantly. A beautiful and warm conclusion to an outstanding EP.

Exclusive Coeus 'Forgotten Love'

Carefully saved within biological circuits that are activated by networks of nerve cells humans gain access to their memory, and therewith to their past, to their knowledge, to colored images of close people, to their lives. Serbian producer Coeus actived his memory of a 'Forgotten Love' for the first release of shortly founded Parisian label Mimesis. The three tracker, consisting of the EP's name giving track 'Forgotten Love', 'Atlantis' and 'Gravity', depicts hidden feelings in space at a musical level. 'Forgotten Love' overwhelms its listeners with a dark fundamental tone that's not taking the track's lead but is certainly responsible for the undertone. The latter is worked out by the synth-chords that deliver a memorable melody that can easily be recalled as its saved within short time in the back of our heads, in our memory, so it is not forgotten but present.

Coeus' EP 'Forgotten Love' will be released February 19th, 2019 on Mimesis.
