Adana Twins return to Diynamic with a thunderous 4-track EP titled 1983, an homage to the sound of the first year Benjamin and Friso spent on Earth.
It starts off with Clocks, an eerie Dark Wave, almost Post Punk-ish track that features the vocals of fellow Hamburg act Kraków Loves Adana and sets you right into the 80s.
Title track 1983 touches back on the EBM sound of the era, with energetic sequenced basslines and a retro synths and sounds, giving you an authentic feel of that time.
Track 3 is titled Neonlicht and is the second feature with Kraków Loves Adana - a slow and hypnotic groove, complete with 808 drums and orchestra hits.
And closing off the record is Mauro Picasso, a feature with Phunkadelica that ushers in the Italo Disco era. Robotic vocals and dreamy synths transport you right to the beach clubs of Rimini.
All in all an incredibly versatile record that demonstrates the talents of the Adana Twins at its best.

D.J. MacIntyre's SLC-6 Music opens the spring season by welcoming Ruben Karapetyan back to the label for his debut single. Following a ten-year hiatus, the Armenian-born, USA-based artist made a triumphant return to electronic music in 2020 with a series of the releases via Mango Alley, Movement Recordings and Univak. On the strength of his fresh, progressive sound Ruben quickly earned praise from the genre's trendsetters Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, while also becoming a regular in Beatport's competitive sales charts. Having made his first appearance on SLC-6 Music last year with a remix of K Loveski's 'Renzzo', the Los Angeles resident now returns to the label for his first single entitled 'Meteorite', alongside a remix from Jerome Isma-Ae. The Original Mix finds Ruben operating at the peak of his creative powers and aiming squarely for the dance floor. Elasticated synths, delicate chord stabs, percolating effects layers, charged beats and mountainous basslines form the solid structure of the track. An emotive break, complete with thought-provoking vocal samples, puts your senses on high for an exhilarating finale.

Making his label debut, and providing the lone interpretation, is progressive music icon Jerome Isma-Ae. Having remixed the likes of Faithless, Hybrid, Paul Van Dyk and Way Out West, the German artist now overhauls Ruben's 'Meteorite' in fine fashion. Beginning with a subdued pulse, Jerome masterfully builds the energy into an epic main-room stormer. Multi-dimensional stabs, flickering percussive arrangements and deconstructed vocals steal the air, while thunderous grooves and misty tension-filled atmospheres keep attention firmly locked on the dance floor.

His EP ‘5 Years’ gives a diverse sound that lets you dream and makes you want to dance. The first track is ‘Everest’ and shows the direction of the EP - upwards. The bassline frames the melody und guides us up the first meter, until we break through the clouds with ‘Through Clouds and Dust’ and feel the sun on our skin. This track, with its quiet sound will make you stop for a while and enjoy the moment. After a short moment of quiet, the intensive claps and the sawtooth wave will guide you to the climax. The more we climb, the more our heartbeat accelerates until pure energy shoots through our body and we see a mysterious creature on the top of the hill. Those energetic feelings are picked up by the track ‘The Caveman’ and the driving bassline forms the end of this brilliant EP.
