Arts has now passed the landmark number of 100. But the reality is that we divided all the records into different categories, which makes the total number way bigger. Nevertheless, the label has become synonymous with Quality and Consistency with a wide range of timeless sounds from Techno, House, Dub Techno, Electro, championing some of the most respected names in the scene and pushing the youth and putting this same Youth at the very top of the Chain, the label Philosophy keeps rotating on a different level of Orbits trying to reach always the best result and never be influenced by anything in the Scene.

The Box is a meticulous work of One entire Year, every artist of the 20 selected delivered something that connects deeply with the label and the reason why they are part of it. 
The study goes beyond when Artists get different colors of palettes and a different surface to paint, their known soundscapes comes with something freer than the usual approach that they did in their singles. Following the labels theme of reaching beyond the conventional record label by combining music experimentation, short narratives, true stories, and illustrations – Jujuka 002 pushes into new territory with the Split EP “Raw Reflex” featuring founder Julia Govor on the A side followed by the first recordings of EMIT.  Julia reaches into her imagination to find Soviet Union enthusiasm met with an American punk drive to add to her signature vibrant arrangement.  Behind the EMIT alias is the intricate and vivid musician / producer – Kamran Sadeghi.  EMIT read backwards is ‘time’ – the continuum of experience in which events pass from the future through the present to the past.  The project is guided by the literal and musical use of time.  A culmination of styles unravel within each track, encouraging listeners to discover their own path through the rhythmic and tonal patterns.  The music belongs to every-body and no-body.

‘Broken Pencil’ is a combination of sharp and high frequency sounds that break the rhythm, twisting it with Julia’s demonic vocals singing iconic 90’s era Russian lyrics from the cartoon “Antoshka”  – Julia calls it “Bedford–Stuyvesant Techno”.  ‘Naked Soul’ was produced during a long and lonely tour around Asia while listening to “Train” from the Solaris soundtrack by Edward Artemiev on repeat.  In 2012 Julia conducted a video interview with Ricardo Villalobos, where he confessed that he fears dreaming and therefore “prefers not to sleep”. For Villa Tone Julia sampled that part of the interview and used Ricardo’s voice to build loops and textures.  The rhythm became something between Reggaeton mixed with UK bass.

Much like all music by Emit – ‘Hyphen’ was recorded live in the studio.  The original version is over 30 minutes long and has the lead cyclical synth pattern very slowly and subliminally approaching the mix from a far distance – a soundtrack for the time traveler.  ‘Free Stuff Forever’ is like a linear conversation that is making sense, then at some point it becomes abstract. Rather than altering it’s natural course you perch on the highest branch in the tree and gaze into the horizon – free your stuff forever!  ‘Greyscale’ was inspired by the theory that right angles do not exist in nature and are a human invention instigated by their upright posture, making them perpendicular to the ground plane – creating the spiritual intersection of the heavenly and earthbound.

We are delighted to introduce a special guest Oliver, the latest electronic project conceived by London-based DJ and producer, Oliver Gibson. Born from within the capital’s neglected walls and spaces, the project was formed around an intersection between Post-Punk, EBM, Darkwave, Industrial Techno and Rave. Building a loyal following throughout the London rave circuit, Oliver established his name through his high-energy sets capable of moving any dancefloor. Working with a DIY aesthetic, Gibson’s intentions as a solo artist centre around a non-purist approach, a resistance against convention.
