The 28th Chapter sees Djuma Soundsystem team up with Westerby for our latest story in sound: the cosmic afro tech of ‘Disambigua’.

Now based in Copenhagen, Norwegian artist Djuma Soundsystem was catapulted into the public's consciousness over a decade ago with his club classic 'Les Djinns' on Get Physical Music. His organic, sample-heavy signature sound is the perfect combination with fellow Copenhagen artist Westerby’s rougher, analogue synths and techy edges.

‘Disambigua’, their much-anticipated follow up to smash hit ‘Koma Kobache’ (Get Physical), is a standout cut which is already turning heads on dancefloors across Europe with its dark groove and killer vocal hook.

Rising star Jonathan Kaspar (Objektivity, Pets Recordings) is first up on the Editions, where he takes things deep. Built around the interplay of synth lines in call and response, his rework is a pure bass monster.

Meanwhile, label regular KatrinKa marks her latest release on Chapter 24 with an Edition that places the emphasis on a trademark infectious groove, paired with a spiritual melodic motif; a perfect balance of darkness and light.

The package is rounded out by Aaaron. The in-demand producer has worked with everyone from Defected and Get Physical to (more recently) Connected and Yoshitoshi. He focuses on deep, powerful drums in a version heavy on tension.

With this latest Chapter there can be no doubt: four different flavours of ‘Disambigua’ which together add up to a clear and coherent whole.

Hailing from Halle/Saale Germany, Felix Thielemann and Mathias Schwarz have created unquestionably one of dance music’s most unique acts. On the quest for re-invention they invited artists and friends working in all sound spectres, ranging from artists that inspire them such as Suara’s label boss Coyu, head of Stil For Talent, Oliver Koletzki, Deetron and Mathias Kaden to their Monaberry family members Viktor Talking Machine, Cioz, Ole Biege and Tim Engelhardt.

Also you find magnificent and characteristic tracks from Sobek, Roy Rosenfeld and Guy Mantzur, Ninetoes and Daniel Stefanik, soundtracking new musical adventures.

Long-awaited Babiczstyle is back on the screen and its owner Mr Babicz opens his synaesthetic suitcase filled with musical impressions from his almost endless journeys throughout this planet. 

For the next upcoming releases on Babiczstyle you can expect a series of five consecutive EPs with one common subject of fabulous creatures. Each of them symbolises a special person or incident Robert got in touch with on his trips and of course as always, he turned it into music. 

Sound-wise, the central feature of these next releases will be the unique hybrid mixture of analog instruments processed in a digital way. 

As title piece of this first EP of a new Babiczstyle era, Soul Fire captivates with its euphorically saturated 303 line that definitely doesn’t have to hide behind the other instrumentalists of the electronic orchestra. And don’t worry, 303 fans: You will also find the sound of the famous sequencer in other Babiczstyle tracks, but sometimes a little more in disguise. 
Next, Falling Angels perfectly attaches to the powerful mood of Soul Fire: You can literally hear the heavenly creatures tumbling down from the Kingdom of God. 

The journey now gets a little smoother when Balance claims its title from its perfect interaction between polyrhythmic vibrant percussion and mallets as well as its basic meditative underlying sentiment. Following up perfectly, Dream Turtle draws the listener into its habitat creating a hypnotic vortex of emotions.  

Finally, Soul Ice rounds up the release, symbolising a fluffy creature in search for delicious soul food. If you listen closely, it’s impossible to deny the brotherhood with Soul Fire, reviving the frozen melody theme of the first track.

We wish you great pleasures with this release, clearly indicating the philosophy of Babiczstyle: an emotional journey throughout ambitious, high-quality sounds and endless spaces — and this one is just the beginning.

An artist who epitomises the modern underground dance industry, Michael A is as gifted as is he is affable. Returning to Proton Music for fourth original EP in the space of twelve months, it is a genuine honour to welcome him back to the label with "Aura Tears".

From the central-southern city of Mazyr, rich in natural resources, Mikhail Akulich has mined from a rich seam of talent through his Michael A moniker. One of his country's most exciting talents, the Belarusian producer continues to find himself at the vanguard of the underground scene with his distinctive blend of "progressive house and techno". A prolific artist, some 650 production credits sit proudly next to the Michael A name; a profound achievement given a commercial debut with a clutch of original releases for Sterofaza and Fluro Music in mid-2012.

Since then a panoply of original and remix production material has been within the catalogues of some of the finest modern independent imprints, not least in the February 2017 "Micrologica" EP for Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat plus work for Darin Epsilon's Perspectives Digital and Cid Inc.'s Replug. Further original work for Mango Alley has also seen a high-profile remix from Australian icon, Jamie Stevens, while Akulich has also founded his own Genesis Music imprint to great effect and a regular vehicle for his production work. Hitting the Particles catalogues in late 2013, 2014's "Behind The Moon" was a notable highlight, as was March 2017's "Sapphire". Hitting Proton Music at the same time, a trio of original EPs have been spread across 2017 with "Bright Hope", "Symbol" and "My Style" all worthy of appearance on the flagship label. Now, Michael A returns to Proton with another original offering in the shape of "Aura Tears".

The title track is a beautifully sculpted piece that blossoms into a pulsating and driving anthem that is a perfect example of modern underground progressive house. Richly textured, floating pads and shining melody reveal themselves fully in the stripped breakdown before reaching a crescendo in the third movement, while a glorious bassline progression adds genuine purpose and interest in a work of great skill.

Revelling in similar melodic themes to its predecessor, "Ciklus One" is founded upon a strong rhythmic framework that supplies dancefloor interest in off-beat percussive cadence. Simultaneously a deep bass groove sparks low-end electricity while intelligent spacing within the mix and across the stereo spectrum highlights technique and mature production craft.

The final track continues the melodic tropes of earlier work as textured pads and shimmering motifs emerge over the seven-minute journey that coruscates brilliantly at the mid-point breakdown. Binding rhythm and melody together with bassline glue, a sublime groove keeps dynamism high accompanied by deep kick and ticking percussion.

Three new tracks find tears of joy rooted in Michael A's aura.

For a veteran chillout producer to successfully navigate the transition to sought-after producer / remixer and DJ within the Progressive House scene, is not an easy ask. But Nick Brennan a.k.a. Tripswitch has done just that – and with distinction. It was his Tripswitch ‘Vagabond’ album (Iboga Records, 2016) that cemented his highly rated status as a key dance producer beyond doubt. The album rose to the top of the Beatport charts, hitting #1 in Electronica and holding at #2 in Progressive House for 3 months.

Since then, a flawless resumé of releases on Bedrock, Sudbeat, The Soundgarden, Movement, Balkan Connection, Flow Vinyl, Pure Progressive and many more creatively exciting labels, has seen Tripswitch’s progressive stock grow exponentially. Chart-topping collaborative studio projects with Nick Warren and Hernán Cattaneo, along with a huge bootleg remix of London Grammar’s ‘Rooting For You’, helped to propel him to the upper reaches of the production cosmos.

Tripswitch’s melodic, emotionally charged, proper progressive DJ sets at amazing events around the world have resulted him gaining a loyal and ever-growing global audience. In 2017 Nick launched his onedotsixtwo label, with its distinct forward-thinking proper progressive ethos.
