Remembering Aliji's elegant techno tunes that filled the Chill dome from Friday midnight.

Aliji is a prime example of the archetypal dj – a musical chameleon, he cannot be pinned down to the restrictive framework of a single genre, but morphs endlessly as the situation requires. Nonetheless, there is a vein that runs through his work: quality. Wherever Aliji is on the decks, you can be assured that the music will capture your heart. Whether ripping up the dancefloor, or soothing the soul through a blissful sunrise, you can depend on Ali to deliver the goods, in a gift-wrapped, psychedelic package. Be certain there will not be a dull moment! A set from this DJ is always an exploration of the healing properties of music and an exercise in meaningful composition. A Liquid-Records DJ and resident of Inspiral, Ali has become a regular on both the national and international festival circuits, playing numerous prestigous events such as The Glade and Glastonbury in the UK, Boom, Sonica and Electric Picnic (Ireland) in Europe, and the legendary Universo Paralello in Brazil, to name but a few. If you have caught him, you may well have heard infectious beats ranging through minimal / techno / tech house or you may have been treated to a platter of sumptuous electronica of the most eclectic variety, as the occasion required. You will almost certainly have seen him sharing the stage with such artists as Gaudi, Eat Static, Mirror System, Ott, Pathaan and Naked Nick. Also, if you have spent any time in Camden in the last 2 years or so, you may well have experienced the fruits of Ali's labours at the inSpiral Lounge, on Camden Lock, where he is organising the majority of the events, as well as getting on the decks himself from time to time.

Hello Everyone:

Welcome to A Complete Balearic Journey - Session 27 - Winter 2013, the third in a series of all new adventures taking you (the listener) on a voyage through the seasons and sound. I feel that each season has its own unique sound, a sub-genre that provides an aural feel of what our other senses experience.

Winter is the season of snow, not just any but those late night and early morning snowfalls when it seems the entire world is asleep, and all is perfectly silent. I relish those magic experiences, and have for the longest of times wanted to throw on an old Scottish cape, take a lantern and go running through the fields; lost in the blinding white. I won't go as far to write that I love snow, though I appreciate much more than the biting cold that many Winter’s bring. The cold goes right through me, its harshness wreaking havoc on my body.

Winter to some is seen as the season of death, though if one is observant and looks closely it's much more like a deep sleep. A rest from the year now past and a preparation for things to come, In essence, Winter is the beginning that leads to the end . . .

OUR journey comes to an end on a late Winter morning in March, the rising Sun growing stronger as the days pass slowly. Subtle signs of the awakening have begun to appear . . . Buds now fill the trees where soon there will be leaves; early Spring flowers struggle to push through the still frozen earth. It won't be long now as WE gaze outside the window and SEE THE SUN . . . epic TRANCE, progressive TRANCE, Progressive HOUSE, and classic MORNING MUSIC form the backdrop to OUR journey . . .
