Title comes from when I thought of the tune last year whilst doing my laundery in shitty uni acommodation facilities. Time may be a constant but the ammount of socks going in and out of a public washing machine never is.

Since about a year I’ve been endlessly fascinated by the world of modular sound synthesis. Inspired by the likes of Morton Subotnick, Thomas Hamilton, Pauline Oliveros and Steve Birchall, I discovered a brand new musical dimension, full of amazing possibilities I was never even aware of. Almost as in a brain - using the magic of the electric voltages to design a personal sound factory, developing a network of connections that shape the timbres to your own liking, create any sound from scratch, arranging pieces free of the orthodox music principles, focusing on much more organic, abstract type of music.

Much like Donald Buchla (the creator of the mighty Buchla synthesizers), I see a modular system as a chance for enabling brand new ways of musical creativity. The lack of white-and-black keyboard in a modular synthesizer is crucial – we don’t want to incorporate a new instument into the „old music”; we’d rather take advantage of a new instrument, its design and possibilities, to seek and create „new music” – the music that has its own set of rules, limitations and possibilities. Nebru Ora is my first attempt at creating such „new music” – the experimental modular music.
