“Ships” is the debut single from the LA-based duo, LightHouse. The duo consists of Katya Richardson and Logan Nelson who are both trained as classical composers. Combining both cinematic acoustic sounds and synth-based textures, LightHouse puts a unique spin on modern, electronic pop. “Ships” incorporates dark, ambient tones with electronic, techy sounds, creating a musical metaphor that represents a full journey from beginning to end.

     “Ships” is a notable introduction to LightHouse. Their artistic ventures see them continuing to push boundaries and combining the two worlds of cinematic music and electronic pop. They plan on releasing an EP which will include extensive collaboration with featured artists and instrumentalists, as well as a multidisciplinary music video with other innovators from several artistic disciplines.

Written for the 2018 Oregon Bach Composer's Symposium and performed by the very talented Post-Haste Reed Duo - sax and bassoon, an odd combination that they make sound really good!

Gersh(win or lose) is a playful banter between alto saxophone and bassoon that uses and warps the archetypal clarinet and brass lines from Rhapsody in Blue. The piece starts with the bassoon attempting to play the starting glissando from Rhapsody and being consistently interrupted by the alto saxophone, who wants to play its own lines from the work. This concept is held throughout the piece (a conflict of interest), but is sometimes put aside to allow the players to jam a little bit.

Grounded Podcast number 126 welcomes American artist The Black Pyramid who is currently residing in Amsterdam. 

Having caught our attention with his intriguing background as a pipe organist, Michael's first experiments in electronic music began in NYC in the noise/contemporary music scene for whilst studying at Juilliard.

His passion for music led him deeper and deeper into dark experimental & industrial sounds and of course techno. 

Having moved to Amsterdam to further his studies and with the ever blossoming electronic music scene here, he is ready to unleash his talents playing both DJ and live sets.
