I learned from pain. I learned from the pain enacted on me by the world, and from the pain that I enacted on the world. 

My blood has been drawn a handful of times, for a handful of reasons, but that only helped unify me with the very cloth and ground that it was met with. 

Even in its most simplest form, the pain of my legs growing as a child, is one of the purest, most nature-driven examples of this. 

There is no growth without pain. 

That’s why we have growing pains. 

When I reflect on the blood that I’ve had to spill in my lifetime, I interpret more as an effect of vengeance than of pure wrath, which is why I look back with satisfaction at my actions- though I am not exempt from having moments in which I desired pain be inflicted upon those who I believe deserved it, if not in the name of Justice, then maybe as a result of my own inner turmoil.￼
