Cry for Kashmir is simultaneously a statement on half-forgotten crises occurring around the world, an optimistic nudge towards global peace, and a testament to the power of art, created on the belief that music can physically affect anything from a human brain down to the structure of a snowflake. The next remix package from Bedouin’s Human By Default is about to land, following the success of their first edition, which saw Damian Lazarus and Vintage Culture rework two offerings from their imperative ‘Temple of Dreams’ LP. Adding to a prolific roster of talent Robin M and @madebypete are the latest names to join the project’s lineup, which has yet to reveal more music from LP Giobbi, Catz ‘N Dogz, Harry Romero, Anja Schneider, Santiago Garcia and Nandu.

‘Temple of Dreams’ was the culmination of collaborations between a diverse range of artists, creating a deep listening experience through Bedouin’s multidisciplinary talents. The forward-thinking duo draws on their Middle Eastern heritage, Western upbringing and worldly travels to connect to fans globally, as seen through their album ‘Temple of Dreams’.

Robin M returns to Human By Default, this time through his take on Bedouin’s ‘Coldman’, where he brings his typically tribal sounds for a meze of plucking strings, rhythmic drum peddles, and a meandering bassline, moving perfectly adjacent to Nathan Daisy’s vocals. 

Meanwhile, London-based Made By Pete, whose current support includes BBC Radio 1 DJ Pete Tong, slices ‘Hokema’ featuring Delram Kamareh, injecting a sense of urgency through punchy kicks and hypnotic percussion.

Sol Selectas welcomes back our Spanish friend Yamil for his first solo EP on the label, with 3 original tracks, and 3 stellar remixes.  Each song is a fusion of indigenous sounds with modern electronic beats, and we hear inspirations from Latin, Arabic, and Indian folkloric music.

The title track “La Flor Colorada” is a collaboration with Clemente, and features the vocals of legendary Panamanian folk singer Rosalinda de La Espada. The song fuses the the powerful vocals of Rosalinda with a bass heavy Afro groove, and twisted metallic percussion patterns. 

“Naidi” combines analog sequences with Indian vocals, creating a beautiful but edgy deep house tune, filled with emotion.  On the remix we welcome Portugal’s Xinobi to the label, and his interpretation strips back the vocal elements, while chopping up the original analog synth noises to create a strong tension-building track, which blurs the line between Indie Dance and Afro Tech. 

“Sanctuary” is smooth downtempo tune with a  Moroccan “Gnawa” influence accompanied by flutes and tribal percussions. On the remixes we welcome Angelos from Greece, who turns up the heat on “Sanctuary”,  and crafts a perfect Afro tribal remix of the original. Derun from Turkey also remix “Sanctuary”,  incorporating their signature percussive drums, and adding a beautiful breakdown which blasts off into psychedelic arpeggios and chants. 

The artwork by Helia Jamali takes us to a playful garden of red flowers and dreams.

trueColors is a deep and melodic record label with a focus on organic sounds, and the imprint's new release is a three-track compilation featuring music by Monolink, Zigan Aldi, Umami and Inámo who have all previously worked with trueColors.

Following the groundbreaking Foresight series, trueColors offers a deeper look into some unreleased material from prominent names on the label, works which stood the test of time with Insight Volume One.

Along with the previously unreleased 'Instrumental Mix' of Monolink and Zigan Aldi's track "Fidale (I Feel)" the release also includes a new remix by Inámo of Monolink and Umami's track "Terra Mount," and Umam provides a new remix of "Ahget" by Zigan Aldi.

Monolink is a German producer, musician and vocalist who combines live instrumentation and heartfelt lyrics with electronic beats. Along with his many solo tracks, he is also a regular collaborator known for working with other prestigious artists such as Ben Bohmer. Alongside his previous music on trueColors, he has also featured his enchanting style on other record labels such as Embassy One, Anjunadeep, Cercle Records and Afterlife Records.

Collaborating with Monolink on the track "Terra Mount" is German duo Umami, who combine electronic music production with acoustic guitar to create mesmerising tracks. Not only have they previously featured on trueColors, but they have also signed music to labels ranging from 3000 Grad to Katermukke. Umami also provides a mystical organic house remix of Zigan Aldi's solo track "Ahget."

Zigan Aldi is a German artist who features a solo track, plus a collaboration with Monolink called "Fidale (I Feel) (Instrumental Mix)" that is in the compelling style of organic house he has featured on other imprints such as Do Not Sit, Underyourskin Records and The Gardens of Babylon.

Inámo is an American organic house artist whose music has been a regular feature of trueColors and Earthly Delights. He showcases the melodic side of his sound with an upbeat remix of "Terra Mount" by Umami and Monolink.

With early support from Nick Warren, Sabo, Jonas Rathsman, Dave Seaman, Robbie Akbal, and Be Svendsen, this wonderful release is a collection of previously unreleased remixes and alternative versions, which combine deep atmospherics with melodic grooves and heartwarming melodies. There are also the flowing rhythms of Afro house and tribal percussion showcasing a new take on the trueColors catalogue and some of the artists that have helped shape the imprint's sound.
