Up next from from Soul Clap’s self-titled sophomore LP is an uptempo house jam featuring  Phil Celeste of Life On Planets. Originally written as homage to the swing and bass of UK Garage,  ‘Timespent’ is a collaboration between Soul Clap’s beats/melodies and the creative male vocal stylings of Baltimore based Celeste , the singer and guitarist of Life On Planets.

“The chords, bassline, melodies and sound effects for ‘Timespent’ were made almost exclusively with the Yamaha DX100, an FM synth from the 80’s which gives the song a real throwback feel. The drums bring it to the future, swung hard, using Roland TR-8. On top of the track, Phil Celeste brings his distinct jazzy/R&B approach to tell the story of relationships gone wrong and time wasted on love abandoned. The result is one of our favorites from the album, a piece of music clearly influenced by the past, but sounding even m  ore fresh in the present.” -  Soul Clap

Starting out cutting their teeth in the early rave scene in Boston,  Soul Clap soon found fame through a series of pop music edits and became household names through notable releases including a DJ Kicks alongside close allies Wolf + Lamb. In the ir second album, ‘Soul Clap’, we can hear four years of maturing technique since their first album, carefully crafted and supported by a whole community of musical talent. In the words of Charles Levine, one half of the duo, “ it  digs deep into our funky souls and turns our wildest dreams into sound.  If ‘EFUNK’ [their first album] was an attempt to create a blueprint using our past inspirations, then “Soul Clap” is the beautiful skyscraper, standing tall as it looks to the future.”

„Die Idee kam mir in Barcelona, als Carl und ich an „Versus“ gearbeitet haben“, erzählt @secretofelements, wenn er über seinen Remix zu @carl-craig-official's Track „Desire“ spricht. „Wir haben seine alten Platten durchgehört und da ist mir zumindest das Thema klar geworden, wie ich einen Titel von ihm interpretieren möchte. Ich hatte diese Richtung dann schon lange in den Ohren, als ich den Auftrag für den Remix erhielt.“ (...) „Ich erinnere mich an die Idee, einen Track mit einem großen zugrunde liegenden Synth oder Baseline zu machen, der sich dann langsam zu etwas Größerem entwickeln würde“, sagt @alex_stein. Genau das war die Grundidee zu seinem Track „Gojira“, der auf @senso-sounds rauskommt. Die Nummer entstand in seinem Studio in São Paulo und wurde über einen längeren Zeitraum produziert: „In dem Zeitraum habe ich den Track getestet und leicht verändert, aber die Grundidee blieb immer die gleiche.“ Schon länger ist Stein mit dem Labelchef von Senso, Oliver Huntemann, in Kontakt. „In dem Track geht es um Schwierigkeiten in der Liebe“, verrät das Duo @ostkjex über ihre Nummer „Dortmund“, die auf @ursl erscheinen wird. „In kurzer Zeit ist ein Paar in Schwierigkeiten. Wir haben uns vorgestellt, dass es in Dortmund ist. Die Melodie sollte etwas kalt, verfremdet und psychedelisch rüberkommen.“ Entstanden ist das Stück in ihren verschiedenen Studios: „Wir haben mehrere Jahre für den Track gebraucht und ihn immer wieder zwischen uns hin- und hergeschickt.
