That was quite a wild story back then. Do you remember how we converted our Meeronauten cutter into an icebreaker with DARE? We headed up north until we could see the northern lights in the evening. The sky became a magnificent light show and the snow crystals danced in the wind. When we finally docked, the vast landscape of the tundra spread out mysteriously before us. Quaint sounds and ethereal voices wrapped us with warmth. Like the drums of Siberian
shamans, powerful percussion instruments and bearlike beats unveiled to us a path that only finds its true expression through dance.

Where was this place? AmuAmu and Xia Ke joined us with a smile, but instead of answering the question, they turned the soundscapes again and again into new formations that swayed back and forth in our minds like the grass of the steppe in front of the speakers. Basses like mammoths burrowed untamed through the permafrost and the overtone singing of sagacious spirits lingered mystically in the air like mist.

Is that really how it was, you ask? We're not quite sure. But in the end, the only limit is our imagination! Or the fact that you still haven't pressed "play"... So come on! What are you waiting for?

It's Good To Be A Tree is an organic house record label that releases trippy tracks with downtempo grooves, and this is the imprints fourth instalment of their annual various artist compilation.

'G2B3:COMP-04' features fifteen tracks by record label regulars such as Betelgeize, Daniel Hokum, Fawno, Valique, Last Gentleman On Playa, and Yassen. There are also a number of record label debuts from the likes of Dr Parnassus, Juanma Salinas, Aleceo, Kermesse, Yemanjo, Still Asian, Vavinchi and Andre P, it also includes first ever official releases by Kira Kinko, and Pasha Kruchini.

Magician On Duty, the globally revered electronic label, proudly presents the latest EP from cinematic electronic artist Ha:arp (@haarplife): Goodbye My Love. A deeply personal and elegantly crafted journey, this four-track release marks a significant evolution in Ha:arp’s sonic storytelling — a project that blurs the line between music and memory.

A Cinematic Farewell — Music for the Mind and Heart

With a background in film scoring and a decade of refining his sound from Bogotá to Brooklyn to Mexico City, Ha:arp brings an unmistakable emotional depth to every track he touches. On Goodbye My Love, he delivers an EP rooted in the label’s signature downtempo and organic house aesthetic — but elevated through lush arrangements, raw vulnerability, and minimalist precision.

In “Goodbye My Love”, Ha.arp delivers a melancholic yet warm narrative through deep, melodic electronica — a signature ethos of the Magician On Duty label. Clocking in at just over seven minutes, the piece unfolds with grace and emotional restraint, capturing a moment of parting, not with melodrama, but with mature introspection.

The opening sets the mood: airy textures float above a gently pulsing low-end, creating a sense of suspension — like the final breath before a goodbye. The production is rich but never overdone. Spacious pads and delicate arpeggios carry the listener into an immersive ambient groove, where every detail feels intentional.

A standout quality is its subtle harmonic tension: minor-chord progressions paired with shimmering melodic layers evoke longing, but never despair. There's a cinematic quality to the phrasing — like scenes playing out in slow motion. This isn’t a track aimed at peak-time dance floors, but rather a soundtrack for reflective moments, sunrise sets, or long solo drives.

The mix is pristine. Every frequency is given its own space to breathe — from the crisp highs of the arps to the rounded, emotive basslines. The stereo imaging is lush, giving a wide, panoramic sense of depth that invites headphones or high-fidelity systems.

What stands out most, though, is the emotional intelligence of the track. Ha.arp doesn’t force the sentiment; instead, the farewell is whispered. There’s beauty in its restraint — and power in its vulnerability.

Known for his trippy style, which combines immersive atmosphere with tribal drums. Most of Last Gentleman On Playa's music has been released through his own record label, but he has also featured on other imprints, including Cosmic Awakenings.

On remix duty, Kermesse and Dr Parnassus have both previously featured on It's Good To Be A Tree, but MiRET is featuring on the imprint for the first time.

Kermesse in an Argentinian artist known for his mix of psychedelic vocals, quirky rhythms and majestic melodies. He has released music through record labels such as Kamai Music, The Magic Movement, and Lump Records.

Dr Parnassus is a shamanic producer from Bali, whose tracks are a concoction of shimmering synths and Middle-Eastern melodies sequenced into melodic grooves. He has featured on record labels ranging from Sol Selectas to Underyourskin Records.

Based in Spain, MiRET is making his first appearance on It's Good To Be A Tree, following regular releases on his own imprint [MuMa]. He has also featured his chugging downtempo style on respected outlets such as Bar 25, 3000 Grad, and Sounds of Sirin.
