“Sabda” is a breathing organism who found music to be his first gateway towards silence. The bond between his heart and soul is what makes his sounds unique. His musical resume, as well as how openly he offers his presence, both push the boundaries to explore new directions.

He has chosen music as an instrument to convey what he feels inside even though he states: “The more time I stay with the self, the more clear it becomes why music has entered my life.” He continues: “The vastness of existence is endless, and I could never see any form of creation achieve to its complete form as it’s eternally growing. I’m not sure if I could get close to what I consciously experience inside regardless of production and technical skills. I create with the current state of experience I have learned so far. Light, life, and love is the triangle that inspires me circularly.”

His sounds are characterized by emotive organic house, world instruments, and experimental psychedelic spices on the side. Though, this style of music has been self-described as "heavily driven by substances”, he always performs while sober due to the complexities of operating computers and mixers during his events.

His first EP was released alongside Acid Pauli with “The Magic Movement Records”. He has several upcoming releases this year with Hoomidaas, Under Your Skin and Sofa Beats.

Born in the dark streets of Cairo, grown to the unforgettable forests of Santa Esmeralda, spending its teen years in Bombay and Tangier markets, mature into the deep spacey Jungle of Ghana we proudly present you a new label from the land of the pyramids: SHANGO RECORDS invites you to an unheard world music psychedelic trip: like through a colorful kaleidoscope we will melt down Indian and Pakistani Vibes, Arab-Tek and Oriental groovy vibes, Afro-Beat rhythms n' pieces, Cumbia Tropicana flavors and cosmic Ghetto-Latin vibes into forbidden sounds of frenzied electronic dancefloor rituals. Outside traditional paths these driving grooves and polyphonic structures take the adventure seeking dancer to Dionysian highs and places never been before.

“It must be a bridge to the top of Never Ending Mountain,” Dragon said, “and to the Old Man of the Moon.” With the attached bamboo stakes, she and the dragon had anchored their end of the bridge to the ground. Dragon, too, looked at the U- shaped bridge, with its fragile ropes. “I cannot fit on it,” he said, “and I doubt it will bear my weight.” “Well,” she said, “maybe it is magic, like the thread. Try.” Dragon put one foot onto the rope bridge. But as the rope felt his mass, it groaned and the bamboo stakes began to tear out of the ground. Hurriedly, Dragon stepped off. “I think,” Dragon said slowly, “I am not destined to see the Old Man of the Moon.” Tlazohtla just wanna give good vibes to the people. This is his second offering for Shango Records. These tracks can make you dance and dream of the silver Moon. Theo Gramal and Jonajosu enjoy their time in the gardens of Eden.

Crossfade Sounds welcomes Colombian artist Bastian Tierr for his label debut with the Faith EP. Based in the Eastern Plains, the sound designer and producer first emerged earlier this year with his inaugural release on Nicolas Barnes' ECOUL SND imprint. Now making his second career appearance, Bastian brings a three-track showcase that reflects both precision and emotional depth.

The EP begins with the title piece Faith, a work that establishes his atmospheric sensibility and attention to sonic detail. From there, Bastian offers two distinct versions of Forgiveness: an original mix that unfolds with patient flow, and a Dub Reprise that strips the elements to their essence, highlighting texture and space.

After the 2019 launch of The Gardens of Babylon’s record label we find ourselves in a very different world. Last year’s compilation was a musical snapshot of a physical festival experience with contributions coming from those who were there. This year, the compilation assumes a different role – a sonic journey through the times, memories, and loved ones we miss, as well as a sense of comfort as we look to reunite on a dancefloor somewhere around the world. 

‘The Monastery’ 2020 draws contributions from friends and family, developing its narrative from the opening percussion of Menachem 26’s ‘Kumpaki Blues’ through the closing euphoria of Glauco di Mambro’s ‘Solar Safari. Along the way, each track reads as a different chapter, transporting listeners to the sea of smiles that make up The Monastery Festival Experience. These chapters break down the weekend, encapsulating the emotions of its many facets, locations, and feelings. With ‘Light on the Road,’ Ali Farahani sets palpable anticipation, leading into the jazzy breaks of Gorje Hewk & Izhevski’s ‘Der Geist Seiner Zeit’. Then, Maga’s delicately brooding ‘Musike’ (feat. Arc) makes way for the gently rising piano of Parallell’s ‘Everybody Knows’. By the time, Derun’s ‘Los Caminos de Sirkedji’ hits, things start getting twisty, day turns to night, and ‘The Monastery’ is in full swing. From here, Amine K, Niko Schwind, Noraj Cue & unders, Dauw, Madmotormiquel, and Headwaters expand consciousness through mythical, hypnotic offerings – some low slung, some deep, dark, and driving. This is where resident VANDER’s ‘We Can’t Get No Sleep’ drops and sums up the experience perfectly, interjecting fresh funk into groovy percussion, before giving way to afterhours vibes courtesy of KRAUT, Franca, and Sound Shapes.

It may be another year until the hallowed grounds of Goch’s Kloster Graefenthal turns into our musical paradise again, but with ‘The Monastery’ 2020 compilation, its starry nights and sweaty days transport through speakers and souls as we patiently wait for the world we know to return stronger, healthier, and more conscious than ever before.

Germany’s @jacobgroening is one of those hard to pin down artists working within the space of organic dance music. As a live performer and hybrid DJ, Jacob somehow manages to infuse everything from gypsy to jazz, blues to soul, with distinctly electronic elements. Never one to settle for anything less than unique, his gentle touch and international influences create music that is both sweet and powerful. This sound has already been felt across the likes of Bar 25, Steyoyoke, Delicieuse Musique, and his own Kamai Music imprint, and now Jacob provides the 4th instalment on Amsterdam’s @thegardensofbabylon eponymous label.

Jacob’s Leslie Ep is a three-track excursion, inspired by travels yet constructed in quarantine. It is a testament to the connective power of music through uncertain times, where some dancefloors may be empty, but hearts and minds remain full. Until we meet again, let Jacob’s playful and pulsating Ep satisfy those communal urges with a journey through sound and culture. Starting this journey, its title track gently swells throughout with subtle chants and hypnotic percussion. Kabir then kicks things up a notch, bouncing between its own pulsating rhythm and powerful chord progressions. Finally, Iguazu draws direct inspiration from Jacob’s travels through India during times before the world changed. With field audio and local musicians interjected throughout its explorative atmosphere, Iguazu is the perfect representation of Jacob’s distinct style: gentle, shifting, and cultural.
