Mysterious duo Manqo return to Damian Lazarus' imprint with Always Something. Following their first release on the label in 2021, called Breaking Hearts, their latest offering displays the pair's penchant for compelling house music, produced with a tribal twist. Swedish star Ida Engberg adds her own flavour to the release with a progressive-tinged remix.

The enigmatic duo detail the concept of the release. "With 'Always Something' we tried to encapsulate a sound that's kind of timeless, taking inspiration from classic Deep House, Soul and everything melodic to create Something that is familiar and nostalgic, emotional but uplifting and fulfilling within it's own sound—an inimitable Manqo groove." The title track opens with a chugging kickdrum and shaker-like percussion, as soft lyrics simmer between a melancholic, piano-led melody. It's moving but still appropriate for an intimate dancefloor. Ida Engberg delivers a progressive take with her remix. She mutates the stems of Always Something by adding dramatic touches to the synthline and stretching out the breakdown to create a tense atmosphere that explodes into a peak-time production. A perfect prog-house meets melodic techno remix.

Manqo are a mysterious producer and DJ duo based in Germany. Personal information about the pair is sparse, but that's part of Manqo allure. The producers started out as acquaintances with a shared love of soulful house music. They combined their skills in the studio and released their first EP called Won’t Change as a collaboration with Keinemusik’s Rampa on the label VOD. It featured on Playstation's GTA 5 and later pricked the ears of Damian Lazarus, who released Breaking Hearts. Since then, Manqo have followed a steady rise and DJ'd in celebrated clubs like Hï Ibiza and Watergate in Berlin. Swedish producer and DJ Ida Engberg lives in Ibiza, where the island's spirit influences her multi-textured sound. She's released club-driven techno on Crosstown Rebels, Truesoul and Drumcode and played in several spaces in Ibiza from DC10 to her residency this summer at Club Chinois, as well as the global festival circuit. Beyond music, Engberg is a painter and advocate for environmental causes and animal rights.

Rick Pier O'Neil started as a Dj in a French club when he was 14.
A sound technics addict, he became a sound engineer and created his first studio at 16.
He started producing his first titles such as Sequential «Chocho Loco», and Tribes World's «In de ghetto» which led him quickly to the top of the french charts.
He began working with such major labels as Sony Music, Universal, Motown, and Polygramm. as a remixer he worked for Kool and the Gang, Stevie Wonder, and others.
With the emergence of the house music movement, he set foot overseas and becomes part of the US musical stage.
The first title realized there ranks 5th in the famous Billboard Chart.
Sussex house « I feel good » will be the beginning with Epic NYC, Japan Sony BMG as an artist remixer such as Donna Summer, Lenny Kravitz, Ultra Nate, and Cee Peniston.
The title "I don't want nobody " created for Cheri Amore (Vocalist today of Armin Van Buuren's tracks) will be a hit in most European countries as well as in the US. RPO makes rankings on the US Billboard and is acknowledged by the biggest DJs.
Built on his American experience, he decides to create his own music label with dark sonorities much more progressive but also more tribal Underground.
It's a risky career choice but his passion for creativity will always grow stronger.
The labels RPO Records and GARBAGE Records will soon play and be playlisted by leading DJs like Carl Cox, Danny Tenaglia, John Digweed, Boy George, Anthony Papa, Steve Lawler, and others. These productions will be compiled all over the world on the best CD: Global Underground, Amnesia, Matinee, and others.
He leaves France and settles in Barcelona. He continues his career as a producer and in the meantime performs as a Dj in the best clubs in the world.
He starts a residency for Amnesia France Tour and is one of the first residents on Frisky radio. He then leaves the city of Gaudi for Mexico where he still lives.
A child of soul music and techno, he now produces his own sonorities. He has produced and created over 500 titles up to now under various artist names and surrounds himself with the best vocalists and musicians.
His 30-year-long career in the studio or behind the turntables is proof if needed that the passion for music fuels Rick Pier O'Neil's life.
He is recognized as one of the top tastemakers, with a popularity that has been growing worldwide.
RPO's banging beats put him at the center of the new breed of mixers on the digital DJ rig, easy to see why he has drawn attention and fame.

Desert Night: Monumental space undulating in the pale moonlight, simple yet full of ruffled, organic textures if you have a closer look. Taster Peter created a very similar atmosphere, but for the dancefloor. The tribalist, percussive groove and the hypnotic rustling of the open hi hats are as ancient and timeless as the spirit of that desert, while the opulent acoustic pressure of the production is an epitome for modern times.
